I created this card using the new Tim Holtz Holiday Stamptember 2016 Stamp set and my MISTI. I used my Tim Holtz Markers to color the different parts of the tree. This is such a fun technique to do on the MISTI. You can re-stamp it until you get the color as dark as you want it. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #30 - Anything Goes
It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have everybody's favorite challenge - Anything Goes. It's never too early to get started on your Christmas Cards. I hope you will join us this week!
For my card, I used a JOFY stamp set from PaperArtsy. To add a little dimension I stamped the tree on the card and then on a another piece of paper. I cut out all the pieces, colored them with Copic markers and adhered them to the original panel. I die cut the panels with Lawn Fawn stitched dies. I also added some enamel dots and some Wink of Stella to the star. It's my favorite kind of card, quick and easy. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #17
It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.
This week we have a Color Challenge. It's never too early to start on
your Christmas cards! I can't wait to see what you create.
For
my card I used a Unity Stamp Company stamp. I colored the image with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz ephemera pack. The rectangle dies are from Lawn Fawn. I used a white gel pen on the snowflakes. I love to use stamps that don't require any other images on the card. This one creates it's own little scene. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #13
It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.
This week we have a Photo Inspiration. It's never too early to start on your Christmas cards! I can't wait
to see what you create.
Of course I was inspired by the purple background. I created my purple background using my new Tim Holtz crayons in Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire. The white tree and sentiment are embossed. I used more of the Chipped Sapphire on the sentiment so it would stand out from the purple background. I used Hero Arts Family and Friends Christmas stamps. Thanks for stopping by!

5 for 5 Christmas Inspiration Day 5 - Tree
Welcome to Day 5 of our 5 for 5 Christmas Blog Event. I can't believe it's our last day, the time has flown by! Today our theme is "Tree". We are all sharing a Christmas Tree themed project. Each day our 5 Designers will post a Christmas Inspired Project based on a theme. Some of us are offering prizes, so be sure to visit all the links below and leave comments. My prize is shown at the end of this post, check it out!!
This project started back in September when I took a Powertex class with Cheryl Boglioli in Boiling Springs, NC at a fabulous LSS called Dorothy's Stamps and Scraps. In the class, they were making female sculptures using Powertex. But, I had another idea. I wanted to try to make a Christmas tree. So, while everyone else made beautiful figures, I worked on my tree.
Cheryl was great. If you ever get a chance to take one of her classes, I highly recommend her. I also took a class on Gelli Printing that was tons of fun!!

First we shaped our sculptures with wire, then covered them with tin foil. I had to really fill the inside with the foil. Then we covered them with masking tape. It might not look like much, but getting the tree shape and especially the star took quite a lot of work.
Then we covered them with strips of cloth coated in the Powertex.
Since the class was only using brown and gray colors, I brought my tree home and created a green color with my DecoArt Americana paints.
Then I painted the tree with several coats.
I decided I wanted to glitter it up, so I proceeded to paint it with several different colors of DecoArt Twinkles Glitter paints.
Then it was time to paint the star. I start out with my Americana paint that I thought was a little to orangey so I went over it with my DecoArt Acrylic Primary Yellow. Then I covered it with yellow
and gold glitter Twinkles.

I'm still considering whether or not I want to add ornaments and trim to it.
But, for now I like the super glittery look.
My prize for this event is two Tim Holtz Blueprints Wood Christmas Stamps - Stocking and Candy Cane. Just follow my blog and leave a comment for a chance to win. I will announce the winner on my blog Saturday, December 12. Thanks for stopping by!

I added this tree ornament that I made to the front of my card. To make the tree I cut a triangle out of grunge board and added some burlap, and trims by Amy Tangerine and Maya Road. The brad at the top is from Cosmo Cricket. The papers are from the Crate Paper Bundled Up Collection.

Christmas Card Challenges #52
It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have an inspiration photo challenge. Since the colors were sort of dark and it's a tree, I was inspired to make a card using my Tim Holtz Blue Prints Tree stamp. I colored the images with Distress Markers and added some Stickles to the star and the ornaments. The colored papers match Tim's color palette, they're Kraft Coordinations. I'm excited to see what you come up with this week for this fun challenge. Thanks for stopping by!'

Christmas Card Challenges #47
It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.
This week we have a photo inspiration challenge. I was inspired by the snow globe and the colors. I used my new Papertrey Ink Snow Globe Shaker Die. The trees are foam stickers I had in my stash and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. The snowflake dies came with the snow globe and I added round dots of Stickles around them to look like snow. I'm can't wait to
see what you come up with this week for this fun challenge. Thanks for
stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #41
It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. Our challenge this week is to "Think Skinny" meaning to make a tall and skinny card. I used some papers and stickers from Echo Park Paper and Crate Paper. Then I added some rhinestones to the bottom border. Finally I added some flair from Studio Calico for large ornaments on my little tree. My card is about 6.5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. I'm excited to see what you come up with this week for this fun challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #36
Welcome to this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges. This week the challenge is to use at least two embellishments on your card. I used several embellishments on my card. First I made a tag using a die by Pretty Pink Posh. Then I made a slightly larger shaped tag out of patterned paper. The tree stamp and die is from Hero Arts. The sentiment is from Hero Arts/Studio Calico stamp set. I stamped it in Ranger Archival Ink in Leaf Green.
I added some sequins by Pretty Pink Posh to the tree for ornaments and I added a sparkly gold dot from DCWV to the top of the tree. Under the tree I added some present stickers that I found on clearance at Michaels last month. The taffeta ribbon is Riding Hood Red from Stampin' Up. The papers are from Crate Paper and Echo Park. I can't wait to see what everyone makes this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July Blog Hop
Welcome to the Christmas In July Blog Hop. If you
start making your holiday projects now, you’ll be ready for December early!
We're making projects we like, using products we like. Be sure to check out all
the blogs. Some of the ladies are offering prizes - including me!!
Here is the big prize I am offering to one lucky person!
In order to be eligible for my prize you need to leave a comment on this post before Saturday, July 26 at midnight EST. I will announce the winner on my blog on Monday. (however, I'm going to be on vacation next week so it may be Tuesday)
I decided to share this project today because Hobby Lobby has these wooden trees for sale now. When I saw it, I knew I had to buy it. I just covered each section with Christmas scrapbook paper and decoupage. Then I found a chipboard letter collection I liked and spelled out the words and covered the letters in Stickls. The star was die cut from grunge board and I added gold Stickles to it. This was a really fun and easy project that I think will look great in my house during Christmas. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #28
This week at Christmas Card Challenges we have a color challenge. For my card I die cut the tree from Tim Holtz grunge board. I painted it white with Claudine Hellmuth acrylic paint in Blank Canvas. Then I added different blue buttons in the color palette and used a Christy Tomlinson trick and put the butterfly on the top instead of a star. The blue card stock and ink is Night of Navy from Stampin' Up. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. This was a really fun color scheme to work with. I hope you will take some time to get an early start on your Holiday Cards and join us this week.
Here is the color story.
