It's time for this week's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week our Challenge theme is everybody's favorite again - "Anything Goes".  Get a head start on your Christmas cards and come join us this week. Thanks for stopping by!

I used one of my favorite Christmas Blueprints stamp by Tim Holtz. I colored the wreath and bow with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, cut it out and adhered it to another stamped image of the wreath with foam tape. I added a few red pearls for "berries" on the wreath. The sentiment is also from Tim Holtz.  The colored papers are Tim Holtz Coredinations.

PaperArtsy Topic 17: Pigment Powders

I made this card for the current PaperArtsy Challenge - to use pigment powders. I used some purple and blue Ken Oliver Colorburst Powders to create the background of my card. I kept the rest of the card fairly simple by just adding a JOFY flower and border colored with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I stampe with Ranger Archival Ink and the black card base is from PTI. I love how much interest these powders add to the background with the random images they create.

I was inspired by dark blues, purples and the shine in this photo. For my card I used papers and embellishments from the Altitude Collection by BoBunny. I made the tree with chipboard and added some pink pearls and a shiny gold star on the top.

Christmas Card Challenges #41

It's time for this week's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week our Challenge theme is everybody's favorite again - "Anything Goes".  Get a head start on your Christmas cards and come join us this week. Thanks for stopping by!

I made a quick and easy card today. Perfect for making multiples. I stamped the tag with Archival Ink, cut it out and stamped the sentiment. I covered the card with Tim Holtz Seasonal paper. Then I cut a rectangle to be the "brown paper package" and added some "string." I love that part of the song and it's the reason I bought this stamp set from Stampers Anonymous.

Ellen Hutson - Impression Obsession September 2015 Mix It Up Challenge

I'm finally participating in my first Ellen Hutson September 2015 Mix It Up Challenge. This month she is mixing it up with Impression Obsession, one of my favorite stamp companies. They have some beautiful stamps and a huge selection.

I used the Ellen Hutson Mondo Magnolia stamp for my background. I watercolored the flowers with my Zig Real Brush Clean Color markers. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession Vertical Sentiments Stamp Set. Sometimes it's handy to have a vertical sentiment!

PaperArtsy Topic 16 - Circles

I barely made it, but I finally made a card for my first every PaperArtsy Challenge. I've been checking out all the fabulous circle inspiration posts they had on the PaperArtsy blog over the last couple of weeks and I was finally able to come up with this card.

I used my PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Turquoise, Dolly Mix and Amethyst to create 2 card base backgrounds. I used the brayer background technique I saw Leandra do in a video a few month ago. One of my background was lighter than the other so I stamped my circle on that one and used the background with more colors for my card base.

I was inspired by Jo Firth Young's post to stamp circles on colors and cut them out and to place them randomly on the card. I used stamps from Lin Brown Eclectica ELB23 and ELB24. I stamped with black Ranger Archival Ink and lightly inked the edges with the black ink. This was a fun and challenging card to make. Thanks for helping me step outside my box.

Here's my final card.

The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #16 - Photo Inspiration

It's time for another challenge over at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog. This month we have an inspiration photo. We ask that you take some type of inspiration from the Inspiration Photo like the colors, shapes, textures, etc... and create a mixed media project.

Our guest designer is the amazing Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. Be sure to head on over to the MMMC Blog and check out the awesome art journal spread she made using our photo as her inspiration.

And our sponsor this month is Angela Magnuson, owner of Unity Stamp Company. Angela is a teacher at the new Brave Girls University and she is giving our lucky random winner a one month subscription to Brave Girls University!!!!!

For my project this month I was inspired by the colors and circles in the photo. I made an art journal page featuring the word "enjoy." If you look closely at the inspiration photo the bench on the bottom of the photo says "Enjoy!"

Here's how I did it.

1. I started with a page that had some random paint on it.

2. I covered it with Tim Holtz Newsprint Tissue paper and Decoupage.

3. Then, I added a thin coat of green paint (not quite as dark as the green on the wall in the photo)

4. After it dried, I used some yellow paint with a Crafter's Workshop Stencil.

5. Then I added some red paint circles with a stencil and I stamped with a light blue paint using a Dina Wakley round stamp.

6. Then I added some smaller blue circles using a Dina Wakley stencil and some greenish/yellow circles using a lid.

7. After adding the yellow/green circles, I thought they looked too much like the first small circles from my step, so I colored over the yellow with a green Stamper's Big Brush Pen.

8. Next, I added some paint to some Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Glass Bead Glitter Gel. But, I wasn't ready to use it yet, so I put it in a little container.

9. Finally, I covered some chipboard letters with the Glass Bead Glitter and adhered the letters to the journal page.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to visit and leave comments on all our designer's projects. We LOVE hearing from you!!
