The Play Date Cafe #192

Welcome to this week's color challenge at The Play Date Cafe. Our colors this week are Black, White and a splash of Neon Yellow. For my cards I used paper from my Studio Calico Card Kit, and Couture Stamps from Dylusions. I used a stencil with Dylusions yellow spray ink and rubbed the excess ink on a clean page. Then I stamped the dress on the neon yellow design I created and cut it out and attached it to the card with pop dots. The words are from Tim Holtz. Thanks for stopping by and we hope you will join us this week.

The Play Date Cafe 191

Welcome to this week's color story at The Play Date Cafe - Cream, Melon and Cantelope. We are sponsored this week by My Favorite Things and graciously given stamps designed by Mona Pendleton to use in our projects. I used a set called MPD Distressed Background Blocks. They are perfect for layering backgrounds.

My colors may be slightly off, but it's because they blended together. I used a large manila tag and covered it in Tim Holtz Bundled Sage Distress Ink. I stamped the background images in Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink. The wooden letters and butterflies are from Studio Calico. l colored the wooden shapes with Bundled Sage and Ripe Persimmon Distress Stains and Inks. The trim is by Maya Road. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play along with us this week. And don't forget, one lucky winner will get a FAB prize from Mona Pendleton and My Favorite Things.

Where I've Been

Hi and thanks for stopping by. I feel so negligent that I haven't been stopping by blogs and leaving comments for about a month now. I just got back from a 3 weeks vacation in the UK. I started out in London for 6 days where I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon with the lovely Ruby McGuire. It was so nice to meet her. She was so nice. I spent a lot of time walking and shopping. My favorite new place was Hampton Court Palace - it was beautiful there!!

Then, I left London for part 2 of my vacation. I went to Harrogate, North Yorkshire where I took a 3 day Art Journal course from the fabulous Dyan Reaveley. I had a great time meeting Dyan and making friends with all the other awesome ladies who were in the class. I wish I could go back soon!!

Finally, I left for part 3, a tour of Scotland. I took a 9 day tour that started in Glasgow, went up through the Highlands and ended in Edinburgh. I found out all about the 2 clans I'm associated with and realized tons of men there look just like my brother - I definitely think we're part Scottish.

While I was gone construction started on my new house. I planned the trip long before the house, so I still went. My parents took care of things while I was gone. Not much happened because we've had unbelievable amounts of rain for the past month. I hope it dries up soon so house construction will continue at a much faster pace. I started a blog to write about what's going on at the build site. It also has the floor plan and front elevation if you're interested here is the address http://donnasnewhome.blogspot.com

Below are some pictures. I'll be back on Thursday with this weeks Play Date Cafe post.
