I noticed that many of my fellow crafty bloggers are posting their Top 10 Favorite Projects of 2014. I thought that sounded like fun, so here are my Top 10 for 2014. I'm hoping to be more crafty in 2015 and I'm wishing that you and yours have a very Happy New Year. I think 2015 will be the best year yet!!

My favorite She Art Girl. I loved taking Christy Tomlinson's She Art Class.
A very Tim Holtz 4th of July tag, covered in Sparkle Mod Podge.
The journal page I made for the 1st Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.
An altered box I made for a challenge at the MMMC.
A card I made for the MMMC using lots of textures and Copic Markers.
A tag I made for a Prima Doll Halloween Tag Swap-
I love how the spider web background turned out.
My favorite card of the year. This card was originally a PaperCrafts reject,
but I entered it into the World Card Making Day Contest and it was a winner!!!
I love this image and sentiment by My Favorite Things.
I had so much fun watercoloring this card.
Just a bright and cheery card made using DCWV stamps and papers.
One of the first I made in my new craft room.
I worked a long time practicing my Copic coloring on this Unity image.
I just think it's pretty.

Today, I'm sharing a mixed media reindeer canvas I made from a Christy Tomlinson class called A Winter Whimsy Workshop. I used acrylic paints, stencils, spray inks, patterned papers, Faber Castell Artist Pens and rub-ons to make this canvas. I loved this workshop and all the super cute things we made. I am not a drawer or a painter so I followed Christy's lead closely and he looks very similar to her reindeer. I hope one day to make my own characters.

have loved all the mixed media workshops I have taken from her and I suggest you take the Winter Whimsy sometime if you like cute mixed media holiday projects. And, I love to take these workshops in the spring and summer when I'm not so busy with other Holiday things and I'm not in the Christmas rush. She puts her workshops on sale several times a year, so be sure to keep close tabs if you are interested in taking one of her classes.

Today, I'm sharing an almost one layer card using Tim Holtz new half tone Christmas stamp sets. It was so fun to use. I'm so glad I picked it up on Black Thursday at a great price. I stamped the snowman 3 times. Once with white, then twice with two blue Ranger Archival Inks. The label and the sentiment came from Tim Holtz Simple Sayings Stamp set. I cut out the label and adhered it with foam tape. I also inked the edges with the dark blue ink. Finally, I had some clear stars and I colored one yellow with a Copic marker and put it on top of the halftone tree.

I painted the tops of them Silver with Tim Holtz Pewter Distress Paint. The area between the glitter and the silver paint was a little rough so I added some Silver Liquid Pearls where the bulb meets the top of the ornament to make it look a little smoother. Therese area so cute and glitter and they look great on the tree!!

Today, I'm sharing a set of bright and shiny Christmas tress. I bought these wooden trees at Michaels and I had a hard time deciding how to decorate them. In the process, I created a really cool look. I painted each one with a different color of acrylic paint and then I painted over them with acrylic glitter paint in the same or similar color. The glitter paints are mainly just a clear paint with colored glitter. It made a really cool shiny almost metallic effect. I love it so much I decided to just leave them painted and not to add anything else to them.

You could paint these to match your holiday decor and use them for great decorations almost anywhere. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Day 10!

Today, I'm sharing cards I made using the pictures on large 12 x 12 sheets of patterned paper. I make cards and rarely scrapbook, so I never use those big pages that have the large areas of graphics on them. I decided to cut a 5x5 area around the images that I like and adhere the 5x5 panel to a card base. Then, I wrap washi tape or Tim Holtz paper tape to the edges of the card. These papers are all from Tim Holtz.

I added sentiments to a  couple of the cards, but many times the graphics are so strong they don't need a sentiment. This is just an easy way to use your decorative papers and washi tape, two things I need to use more Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Day 9!

Today, I'm sharing an ornament I made for a Prima Doll Christmas Ornament Swap. I love participating in swaps and I love Prima Doll Stamps so it's a win win. The challenge was to make an ornament from die cuts and wings. I used papers from the Crate Paper Bundled Up Collection. To make the ornament I die cut a Tim Holtz Ornament using grunge paper and then cut an oval out of the top of the ornament.

I covered the back of the ornament opening with a newsprint paper and painted the ornament with Tim Holtz Crackle Glaze in Pine Needles. Then I covered it with Sparkle Mod Podge. I added a red glitter brad from Stampin' Up to the bottom and used some small stickers to make the "holly" in her hair. I painted the top of the ornament with Pewter Distress Paint. I love how it turned out. The fun die cut technique could be used for lots of things. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Day 7!

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Swan Song Blog Hop

To go to Day 3 of the 12 Days of Holday Inspirations click HERE.

Today I'm part of a blog hop to honor Paper Crafts Magazine. If you haven't heard, Paper Crafts will be going out of business as of Friday, December 5. Paper Crafts has been such an important part of the Card Making and Scrapbooking world for many years now and we will all miss their publications. They provided us with inspiration and chances to be published. They reported on and set design trends. I think most importantly they provided ways for us to get together and meet each other through their contest and the Moxie Fab World Blog. We are all going to miss Paper Crafts immensely.

I'm sharing a card I made for the last Call for Submissions that I entered. Instead of having a happy mail party the day we were hoping for one, we got an e-mail saying they were going out of business. Such a sad day for Paper Crafts fans.

To make the background I colored with Gelatos, then I blended it all with a water brush. The stamps are from Unity Stamp Company.

I'm sure that everything happens for a reason and the nice people who worked so hard to create this amazing magazine will be moving on to bigger and better things. So, I thought this card was appropriate for this occasion.

Thanks for the memories Paper Crafts!!

You should have come here from Laura Sterckz Blog. Now you should move on the to Rachel Kleinman's Blog.
