The Play Date Cafe #184

Welcome to this week's new color challenge at The Play Date Cafe. Our colors are Smokey Plum, Cherry Blossom and Lava. I wanted to use this new Memory Box dress die for the first time. I found a tag I had in the lava color. I make tons of tags from the left over ink I have when I make art journal pages. I also made the dresses from tags that I had. I inked the edges with Distress Ink and added orange tinsel to the dresses. The words are Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers. I added some pink enamel dots to finish it off.

I really hope you will be able to play along with us this week. I love these colors and cannot wait to see all the gorgeous entries I'm sure we will have this week!

Our prize is coming out of The Play Date Cafe vault and I hear it's all about SRM Stickers. Be sure to stop by the blog for more info. Thanks for stopping by!!

The Play Date Cafe #183

Welcome to this week's color challenge at The Play Date Cafe. This week our colors are Navy, Emerald and School Bus. I actually made a card this week - it felt good!! I moved into my parents house last week and I almost have my crafty stuff stored in a way that I can get to everything and I know where most things are. It's the best I've had it in months. For my card I pulled out the American Crafts Glitter Tape. I alternated the green and blue tape for the background. Then I found a little yellow polka dot envelope that is the perfect size for a gift card and added a strip of glitter tape the envelope and then dressed it up a little with these awesome pearl accents provided to us by Elizabeth Mindemann from Close to My Heart. I liked that they had sticky backs and weren't brads. It made them so easy to use. Our lucky winner this week will win a Close To My Heart prize provided by the very generous Elizabeth.

The Play Date Cafe #182

It's time for another color challenge at The Play Date Cafe. This week our colors are Maroon, Poppy and Soft Jade. This week I have another pair of earrings. As some of you may have read on my blog a few weeks ago I am in the process building a home. This week I sold my house and moved in with my parents until my new house is ready in 4-6 months. My crafty things are all over and it's hard to find things right now, but I did happen to find a little box of beads and earring wires so I decided to make these simple earrings. So easy - anyone can do it. You just need wire, beads and needle nose pliers. The colors in person are closer to the color story picture, but when I took the picture they changed a little; however, they are still close!!

Our sponsor this week is My Creative Classroom. Be sure to play with us. Our lucky winner will win a class form My Creative Classroom - that's an awesome prize!!

Mother's Day Inspiration Blog Hop

Welcome to the Mother's Day Inspiration Blog Hop. You may have seen the other three inspiration Blog Events we have done including 12 Days of Christmas, Valentine's and Easter. We've decided to give ourselves a name, so we are now officially "The Inspiration Crew".

This time we're doing a 1 day blog hop to provide you with lots of Mother's Day Inspiration. We're making projects we like, using products we like and this time we have prizes!! Some of the generous ladies in the hop are offering several fun crafty prizes that are listed below. To be eligible to win a prize just leave comments on the participating blogs by midnight EST Monday, May 6. Winners will be announced on my blog Wednesday, May 8.

For my project I made my Mom a frame. Here is what the frame looked like before I did anything to it. I bought it at Hobby Lobby. It holds a 3x3 photo.

I painted the entire frame with Claudine Hellmuth Studio paint in Traditional Tan. Then I stamped the images on it using two Unity Stamps - She Leaped (I only used the chevrons in her skirt) and my favorite all time stamp Stars of Worn. I stamped each one of them using Shaded Lilac and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. I rubbed some of the stamps with a paper towel to soften the colors and inked the edges. Then I found some clay figures I made with my Martha Stewart Clay and molds and added the Butterfly and branch and the flower and leave. I added some sparkle to the butterfly and flower with an Iridescent Glitter Pen. I'm in the process of moving and I couldn't find a picture to put in it, but I'm sure I'll come up with something before the big day next week!! Thanks for stopping by.

You should have come here from Rachel I's blog. Now you go check out to Rachel K's blog.
