Hope You Can Cling To Challenge Day 30 2012

I'm very excited to be the hostess of the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers today. I hope you will find my challenge fun and will join us over at Splitcoast. My challenge is called Cork, Canvas or Clay. Just make a card using Cork, Canvas, or Clay (or if you don't have any, just use any natural surface) Upload your card to Splitcoast and use the Keyword HYCCT1230 That's it, easy peasy.

Here's is an excerpt from my challenge sample card. You can use the links to find out more about Hope You Can Cling To and all the fun prizes involved.

"Are you playing along with us? If not, you're missing out on the chance to lift the spirits of women battling breast cancer at MD Anderson, and also on more than $6500 in prizes from your favorite crafty companies. So what are you waiting for? Get to stamping!"

Here is my card. I used Papertrey Ink Stamps and dies and an idea to stack the animals based on a card by Maile Belles. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can find some time to make a card for this wonderful cause.

Mimi Halloween Cards

I wanted to use my Penny Black Mimi Halloween set this year. I bought lots of new Copic markers last weekend with an extra discount I had, so I really wanted to color also. So, I colored the 4 main images in the set. Before I made the cards I checked out the Penny Black Saturday Challenge to see if any of them would fit and I saw it was a sketch challenge so I made all the cards using that sketch. I also picked up some glitter paper while I was out last weekend so I used glitter paper on all the cards. Thanks for taking a look!

Here are my cards:

I colored the images with my Copic Markers. I had fun making this card - very fun theme. Thanks for taking a look!

Sparks - CAS Thanks

I made this card for the current Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge. I was inspired by the gray and  yellow colors of the inspiration photo. It's probably CAS to the point of boring, but I wanted to play with the hexagons and this is what I came up with. I like to use the bold sentiments over patterns. Thanks for taking a look!

1. Card stock - Whisper White (Stampin' Up)
2. Stamps - Vogue Abode, Sentiment Sampler (Paper Smooches)

The Play Date Cafe #155

Welcome to this weeks Color Challenge from The Play Date Cafe. This week our gorgeous color story is Mint, Gold and Leather. You could make some gorgeous fall and holiday cards with these colors. This week our awesome sponsor is Technique Tuesday and they generously sent the members of the PDCC design team new stamp sets to play with. I got this amazing set designed by one of my favorite crafty friends, Teri Anderson the set is called Twinkle On. I just love it! And, I had such a fun time working with these stamps and colors. Teri is also our Guest Designer this week, so be sure to check out her card and leave her some love.

On a sad note, this week we are saying good bye to our long-time DT Member Ruby. Her life has taken a new turn lately and she is focusing on other things. I was a player long before I was a member of this design team and I have always loved visiting Ruby's blog and checking her unique style of card making. She will be greatly missed and we all wish her the very best in her future endeavors. We'll miss you Ruby!!

Now, for my card. I had nothing in mind when I started making this card - it just sort of developed organically and I really like it. I used Crate Paper Peppermint papers and border stickers. The light green background paper is from Echo Park -Merry & Bright.  I embossed the stars on the trees using a color called Pirate Gold. It's a little darker than gold, but I thought it went well with these colors. I stamped the trees in Wild Wasabi ink from Stampin' Up and added Gold Stickles to the tree. I stamped the sentiment and tree trunks in Ranger Archival Sepia.

Spooktacular Halloween

I made this card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge - to try a new technique. I've never used inches or tried to make a window card so I thought I would give it a try. It might be better with other types of images, but I think it turned out OK. I used the Lawn Fawn Happy Haunting stamp set and colored with Copics. The paper is Pebbles Tricks & Treats and the label die is PTI. Thanks for stopping by!

The fence is a Martha Stewart punch and I covered it in Black Diamond Stickles. The bats are from a Tim Holtz stamp set and the sticker Cat sticker is also Tim Holtz.
