For my card, I was inspired by dark blues and accents of red and of course Santa in his sleigh. I cut a panel out of a Tim Holtz seasonal paper and inked the edges (it's hard to see in the photo). I put the panel on Stampin' Up Night of Navy Card Stock. I stamped the frame and sentiment which are from the Tim Holtz Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set on Kraft paper. Then I added some Tim Holtz trim around the bottom of the card and put the sentiment on top of it.

I made some home decor blocks for my "Stencil" project. I started with wood blocks I picked up at new home construction sites in my neighborhood. I painted the blocks orange and used a different stencil on each one. For the "B" I used the Tim Holtz Bats Stencil. On the middle "O" I used the Dylusions Skulls Stencil. And on the final "O" I used the spider web stencil from My Favorite Things designed by Mona Pendleton.
I added several layers of silver paint and crackle paint to the letters. To finish it off I outlined the letters with a black Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Big Brush Pen and painted the sides black. This was a super easy and fun project. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow for our final day!!

I made this Haunted House canvas. I painted the top of the background with acrylic paint and the on the bottom I used a stencil with modeling paste then painted it with green acrylic paint and later I blended some darker ink on the grass area with a Big Brush pen to darken the area. I added stars with a stencil and modeling paste on the sky and painted them with gold paint. I cut the witch and moon from a piece of DCWV Halloween paper.
The bat and tombstones were also cut from patterned paper. I made the house out of 3 pieces of patterned paper and added a Tim Holtz number 31. The door is from Maya Road. I used Black Soot Crackle paint on the door. The fence is a Martha Stewart punch I used with black paper that I covered with Sparkle Mod Podge. The raven, ghost and pumpkins are from the Tim Holtz Halloween Ephemera pack.

For my project I painted a burlap panel black. It took several coats of black acrylic paint to get it covered. I used a brush to get into all the nooks and crannies. I cut the pumpkin shape out of card board from a cereal box. Then I used the Tim Holtz Halloween Ephemera pack to collage the pumpkin. After adding all the pieces, I cut around the edge of the pumpkin where the ephemera pieces went off the edges. Then, I cut out the stem and painted it with brown acrylic paint. I used hot glue to adhere the pumpkin to the burlap panel. This was a fun and easy project that turned out very cool.
Here is the original burlap panel.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #17 - Word Search
It's time for the new challenge over at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. This month we have a super fun Word Search Challenge. Just make a project based on any of the words you find in our Spooky Word Search. Be sure to tell us what words you used. I had so much fun with this challenge!! I put a sugar skull on a small wood block.
Our awesome sponsor this month is Grumbacher. They make amazing artists paints and supplies. Our lucky random winner will win a Grumbacher prize package filled with India Inks, Acrylic Paints and Woodless Colored Pencils. Grumbacher was so generous they gave our design team member the same items in the winner's prize. Be sure to check out their products at your local craft store.
Then I sprayed it with Glitter Dust spray. It's hard to see in the picture here, but very festive and fun!

Grumbacher was so generous they gave our design team member the same items in the winner's prize. Be sure to check out their products at your local craft store.
Here's how I made my project. First I painted a wood block that I got from a construction site with black Grumbacher Acrylic Paint.
Next, I dripped some of the India Inks down the wood block. There are hard to see in my later images.
Then I sprayed it with Glitter Dust spray. It's hard to see in the picture here, but very festive and fun!
I wanted to add more to my block so I then added a bone border. This was so easy. I just used a DecoArt Americana Writer in White to make a straight line. Then, at the end of each of the lines I made 2 small round shapes. The less uniform they were the better - they look more like real bones. I love that they were so easy and fun to make!
Finally, I feel like it need more glitter so I sprayed the block again with the Glitter Dust .
On a sheet of vellum I stamped a Hampton Art Sugar Skull three times with Ranger Archival in Jet Black. Then I colored in the Sugar Skulls with my Grumbacher Woodless Colored Pencilas. I put an uncolored one on the block first, then covered it with the colored Sugar Skull. The two piece of vellum made the skull seem much more white.
Here's my final project.
