Welcome to Day 1 of our 5 for 5 Halloween Blog Event. Today our theme is "Paint". We are all sharing a project where we used paint. Each day our 5 Designers will post a Halloween Inspired Project based on a theme. Some of us are offering prizes, so be sure to visit all the links below and leave comments.
I'm offering this prize package full of Halloween embellishments. I think you will love it. To be eligible to win, just leave a comment on every day of this event and be sure to follow me. I will announce the lucky winner here on Saturday, October 17.
For my project I painted a burlap panel black. It took several coats of black acrylic paint to get it covered. I used a brush to get into all the nooks and crannies. I cut the pumpkin shape out of card board from a cereal box. Then I used the Tim Holtz Halloween Ephemera pack to collage the pumpkin. After adding all the pieces, I cut around the edge of the pumpkin where the ephemera pieces went off the edges. Then, I cut out the stem and painted it with brown acrylic paint. I used hot glue to adhere the pumpkin to the burlap panel. This was a fun and easy project that turned out very cool.
Here is the original burlap panel.
