For my card I made a Washi Tape Christmas tree. I cut a star from grunge board for the star and covered it with Gold Stickles. It's a fun easy card to make and a great way to use up some Washi!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Here's a card I made for my mom. I used a Dina Wakley stamp set for the frame and colored it with Pan Pastels. The letters little individual alphabet stamps from The Paper Studio.

I was lucky enough to take a class called Chunky Technique Book with Dina Wakley at an awesome LSS in Boiling Spring, NC called Dorothy's Stamps and Scraps. It's about a 2 hour drive for me, so not too bad. I had a great day. I've taken several classes there and I've become friends with several of the regulars there and the owner Mary Ruth. She has the best selection of Ranger products, I always spend to much. Oh well, YOLO!! Thanks for stopping by.

That's me with Dina Wakley

Scottie Canvas Using DecoArt Mediums and Paints

Today I'm excited to announce that I am the newest member of the DecoArt Blogger Outreach Program. I've been using a lot of DecoArt products lately and I really love them. You can find their products at stores like Michaels, Joann's and Hobby Lobby under the name Americana and you can order any of their products including their awesome new Media line created by Andy Skinner from their Web site at www.decoart.com

Today I'm showing you how to make this cute little Scotie canvas. It's a fun and easy project that I made using a small canvas, a stencil and lots of DecoArt products. A couple of months ago I picked up a pack of animal stencils at Michaels. I knew I would use them sometime, but I wasn't sure how. Then, I found some small 4x4 canvases in my stash and thought they would fit on them perfectly.

Here are the items you need to create the Scottie Canvas:
            • DecoArt Media Gesso
            • DecoArt Media Matte Medium
            • DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint - Citron Green
            • DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic - Carbon Black
            • 4x4 Canvas
            • Paper Animal Stencil
            • Stencil Brush
            • Paint Brush

 1. First, I painted the canvas with a coat of Gesso and let it dry.

2. Then, I painted the canvas with the Citron Green paint (2 coats)

3. I attached the stencil to the canvas with Washi Tape.

4. Then, I used the stencil brush to add the black paint through the stencil.

5. Finally, I added a coat of DecoArt Matte Medium to seal the canvas

I had so much fun making the Scottie, I wanted to try a few more.
I made the Rooster Canvas using American Razzle Berry and Buttermilk paints.
Then, I made the Swan Canvas using Americana Carousel Pink and Cool White Paints.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #12 - May Flowers

It's time for a new challenge over at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. Our theme this month is "May Flowers" easy peasy and so much fun!!
I'm so excited that our Guest Designer this month is the amazing Ranger Signature Designer Dina Wakley!!! You are going to love the project she created for our challenge. Be sure to go check it out.

Our sponsor is Stamper's Anonymous and they are offering two prizes for our 2 random winners - each contains a Dina Wakley stamp set and stencil set. Those are awesome prizes!!

I created my project on a thick piece of chipboard that I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. To create the background I used DecoArt Gesso and Modeling paste along with Dina Wakley paints, stamps,  and stencils.  I was inspired to create the flower using non-traditional colors from a flower I sawy in one of Dina's Art Journaling books. I colored the flower with Stampers Big Brush Pens. The sentiment is from Dina's Scribbly Flowers Stamp Set. Thanks for taking a look and I hope you will join us at the MMMC this month!!
