Believe Art Journal Page

I was so excited to get the new set of Seth Apter paints from PaperArtsy a few days ago.  I created this journal page using only those 4 paints, some brayers, a plastic circle (center of a tape roll) and a Seth Apter IO stamp. For some reason I felt like it needed a heart, but my heart is a little wonky. I mixed the buff with the Mahogany and it made the pinkish color of the heart. I wasn't planning on it being that pink, but it's ok. The Believe stamp is from a Donna Downey Unity Stamp Set called Inspire Words. I had fun playing with these colors that are a little out of my usual range.

Christmas Card Challenges #42 - Anything Goes

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have everybody's favorite "Anything Goes".  Christmas is only 3 months away so it's time to get started on your cards. I can't wait to see what you create!

For my card, I used a stamp set and die by Hero Arts called Color Layering Deer. I started by creating the background with a stencil called Evergreens from The Crafter's Workshop and Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays. Then I stamped the deer with several different colors of brown ink. The sentiment is also from Hero Arts.  I added some tiny pearls to make it look like it was snowing. I attached the white panel to a large piece of craft foam and adhered it to a card base made from Papertry Ink Limeade paper.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Monthly Mid-Month Inspiration Post - Rustic Card

The theme this month over at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge is "Rustic." The design team were all sent very generous goodie boxes from our sponsor Canvas Corp Brands. Some of us had so much stuff we decided to make another project. So be sure to check the blog for some more amazing "Rustic" inspiration. Then, come play with us. Our random winner will get a $25 Canvas Corp Brand gift certificate.

I made a card using some beautiful 7Gypsies papers. I cut some flowers from the paper and adhered them with pop dots. I used my CCB lace by cutting it in half and dyeing it with my Tattered Angels Shimmer Mist. I cut some of my CCB yellow burlap into the shape of a tag and used words from my 7Gypsies paper. Finally, I created a bow with their pink twine, which I am totally in love with!!

Christmas Card Challenges #40 - Christmas Lights

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Word Prompt Challenge -  Christmas Lights.  What a fun subject. I can't wait to see what you create!

For my card, I used a stamp set and die by Reverse Confetti called Merry & Bright. I started by stamping lots of lights in different bright Archival Ink colors. I picked out three colors that I thought looked good together. Then, I covered them with Glossy Accents so they would look really shiny. I drew a line for the lights with my Faber Castell Pitt Pen and adhered the lights on the line. This is just a simple CAS card that was really fun to make. Thanks for stopping by!

Art Journal Page with PaperArtsy & Seth Apter Products

I was very inspired today and yesterday as I was watching Periscopes by Seth Apter and Leandra from PaperArtsy at some classes being taught by Seth outside of London. I really wanted to try some of the things I was seeing so I experimented with this page. I used PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Baltic Blue, Theresa Green, Pumpkin Soup, Concrete and Slate. I also used some Seth Apter Impression Obsession stamps and I used his star dies to create some stencils and a mask. The words are from a TCW stencil. I haven't made a journal page in a while and it was really fun. Thanks for the inspiration Leandra and Seth!

Christmas Card Challenges #39

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Photos Challenge with music notes. I can't wait to see what you create!

For my card, I used a Hero Arts musical notes background stamps and Artistic Outpost stamps from a set called Frosty and Friends. I decided to use a monochromatic color scheme. The papers are from Stampin' Up in Bashful Blue and Pacific Point. I stamped the snowman and background with Versamark Ink and then brushed a blue Perfect Pearls powder over it. That's why the image is a little light in places, but I think it's an interesting effect.  I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point Ink. The banner die is from PTI. Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #28 - Rustic

It's time for a new Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. Our theme for this month is "Rustic." Just create a project with a rustic feel. Our sponsor is the awesome company CanvasCorpBrands. They are offering our random winner a $25 gift certificate!! They very generously sent each member of our design team a box of amazing crafty goodness and asked that we each create a mood board. They picked the products they sent us based on our mood boards.

Here is my mood board. I challenge you to make your own rustic mood board to inspire your project. It's not required at all, but if you do be sure to put it in your blog post.

Here's the box of crafty items I received from CanvasCorpBrands.

The first thing I made was this little banner. I used their Canvas Mini Triangles and the pink, yellow and green colored sheets of burlap. I cut the burlap into little circles, folded them twice and sewed four of them by hand onto another burlap circle in a contrasting color. There are lots of tutorials on the Internet that show how to make fabric flowers. Use the cute little pink, green and natural clothes pins to hang the mini triangles on a pieces of twine.

I also altered this small clipboard. I started off by using the Tattered Angels Naturally Aged Paint System. I just followed the instructions and added the paints and sprays like it said and it made this beautiful finish on the clip board. Then I cut a piece of the natural colored burlap and glued it to the sides since I didn't do the paint treatment on the sides. Then I cut a piece of the pink burlap and cut out some words from one of the pieces of 12 x 12 paper they sent me and glued them on. I wanted to be able to use this clip board so the pink burlap piece is removable and I didn't really add anything else. Also, I wanted to be able to see and enjoy the aged paint effect.

This is how it started.

And here's how it ended up!
