Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #45 - Photo Inspiration

It's time for another Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. This month we have a "love"ly inspiration challenge. Our sponsor is Topflight Stamps. They are offering our lucky random winner a $25 gift certificate. Topflight Stamps sells lots of awesome International stamps with loads of great mixed media stamps, stencils and paints.

I used Paperartsy Stamps and Paints from Topflight Stamps for my project.

Tracy Scott #15

PaperArtsy Paints

I created a brayered background using the more pink and purple paints. Then I stamps with Versafine Archival Black Ink and colored in the stamps with the PaperArtsy Fresco paints. I cut out the heart from a journal page where I had been cleaning my brayer so it had the same colors. Then I sprayed it with Dina Wakley Ruby Shimmer Spray covered it with Prismacolor glitter pen. I adhered it to the gesso board from Dick Blick Art Supplies with foam tape. Then I adhered the Tim Holtz word strip with Elmers glue pen. I also went over the border scallops with matching Prismacolor glitter pens.

PaperArtsy Love Mini Pallet

I created this Valentine's mini pallet (Maya Road) using PaperArtsy Emma Godfrey stamps and paints and Archival Inks. To finish it off I covered the heart in Tattered Angels Glitter Glam glitter paint.  I was inspired to enter the PaperArtsy challenge by this post by Tracy Scott.

I took some pictures along the way of the process. Here they are.

Believe Art Journal Page

I was so excited to get the new set of Seth Apter paints from PaperArtsy a few days ago.  I created this journal page using only those 4 paints, some brayers, a plastic circle (center of a tape roll) and a Seth Apter IO stamp. For some reason I felt like it needed a heart, but my heart is a little wonky. I mixed the buff with the Mahogany and it made the pinkish color of the heart. I wasn't planning on it being that pink, but it's ok. The Believe stamp is from a Donna Downey Unity Stamp Set called Inspire Words. I had fun playing with these colors that are a little out of my usual range.
