Christmas Card Challenges #30

It's time for this week's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week our Challenge theme is everybody's favorite "Anything Goes".  Get a head start on your Christmas cards and come join us this week. We now pick a weekly winner and honorable mentions! Thanks for stopping by!

For my card I used a Unity Itty Bitty Stamp called Season Snowman. It's illustrated by Angie Blom. I colored him with a white Kuretake Zig marker and the colors are all Copic Markers. I stamped the images with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped on Kraft and outlined the panel with a black Copic marker. Then I layered a piece of burlap and red card stock on a gray card base. He seemed rustic to me so I thought the burlap went well with him. This was a simple and easy card to make. You just need a good white marker!

Unity Friends with Flair Friday

This is my Unity Friends With Flair Entry. This is another one of the backs of my Faber Castell Design Memory Craft chipboard mini journal pages. I used DecoArt Decoupage to put Tim Holtz Text Tissue Paper on the background. Then I covered it PaperArtsy Chalk ink in the Chalk Color. I used a credit card to spread the paint. Then I covered the Heart stamp with Cobalt and Red Geranium Archival inks. I stamped the sentiment with black Archival ink. It's a little crooked but what are you going to do? It's just an art journal page. I inked the edges with a mini Distress Blender Tool and the blue Archival Ink. Both the stamp are from Unity Stamp Company. Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink June 2015 Blog Hop

I made this card for the June Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. This month they had a cute inspiration photo. I was inspired by the stripes and the colors. I used the Summer Sweetness Stamp Set with Orange Zest, Limeade Ice and Enchanted Evening inks and papers. I also used the PTI stitched rectangle and label dies. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the blogs of the hop participants to see what gorgeous creations they made.

Here's my card.

Butterfly Collage Art Journal Page

I saw a post on The Crafters Workshop Blog where Carmen made an art journal page using only one stencil. I have a similar stencil to the one she used so I decided to try it. I used a 6x6 stencil called Butterfly Collage. I used 4 Dylusions Spray ink on this page Lemon Zest, Pure Sunshine, London Blue and Crushed Grape. I was experimenting with a tetradic color scheme. It's nice, but when using nonpermanent inks you have to be carful the purple with the yellows and oranges doesn't turn brown. I also used some Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Whipped Spackle in some places. I colored it with the inks. I used my Prima stamp press to make the sentiment with black Archival ink. It was a relatively quick and fun page to make. Definitely a challenge to use only one stencil!! Thanks for stopping by.

Then I stamped the fireworks in Carnation Red and Aquamarine Archival Inks and added some red and blue sequins. I used patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs Patriotic Parade. Happy Father's Day

Here's  quick card I made for my dad from the PTI stamps set and dies called On the Links. I like this set because it has several different golf images can use and I have used it for several years now.  It's also the set I used for a Father's Day card that was the last card I had published in PaperCrafts Magazine before it closed. I used paper from October Afternoon and the ink is Not Quite Navy from Stampin' Up. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #29

It's time for this week's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week our Challenge theme is an inspiration photo.  I was inspired by the candy canes. For my card I spread used papers from BoBunny's Candy Cane Lane collection. I stamped the Tim Holtz Blueprints Candy Cane stamp on the patterned paper. Then I stamped it on another piece of white paper and cut out the candy cane, colored it with Copic Markers and adhered it to the card with foam tape.

Unity Friends With Flair Friday

This is my Unity Friends With Flair Entry. I'm got another back to one of my Faber Castell Design Memory Craft chipboard mini journal pages.

First, I heat embossed the Dandelion Stamp and sentiment in white. Then I blended some Distress Inks on the page. I used Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Wild Honey Distress inks. When I finished with the colors I sprayed some water on the top to create some texture on the surface of the colors. It was a quick, easy and fun mini journal page. Thanks for stopping by!!

For my card I spread white acrylic paint on piece of texty patterned paper. Then I stamped the two ornaments and the sentiment with Archival black ink. I colored in the images with Pan Pastels because I wanted the text and some of the white paint to show through. The stamp set is by JOFY from PaperArtsy.

Unity Friends with Flair Friday

This is my Unity Friends With Flair Entry. I'm starting on the backs of my Faber Castell Design Memory Craft chipboard mini journal pages. I used DecoArt Decoupage to cover the background that was a little stained. My napkins were 3 ply, so I took out 2 of the layers and only used the layer with graphics. Since napkins are such thin paper you can see through them and little bit of the pink that was on the journal page shows through which give the background a little more interest. I took some pictures while I made this.

This is the original napkin and the my journal board with some pink stains.

After I tore up the napkin and decoupaged it on the journal board.

I used a Unity Itty Bitty Stamp set called "Wonderful". I colored in the border of the circle with Distress Markers in Seedless Preserves and Fossilized Amber. I stamped with Versafine Archival Black Ink. I adhered the bird in the circle on the board with foam tape. It was another fun and easy mini journal page. By the way, I got these pretty napkins at Tuesday Morning. Thanks for stopping by!

Unity Friends With Flair Friday

I made this for today's Unity Friends with Flair. This is a small Faber Castell Design Memory Craft chipboard journal page. I made the background a long time ago with some shiny lavender spray mists and The Crafters Workshop stencils. I decided to only stamp my images in Black Archival Ink. I used Unity stamps from the Unity Kits of the Month from January 2014 and March 2014. I also inked the edges. Thanks for stopping by.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #13 - A Year of Choices (And Some Changes)

It's the first of the month. That means it's time for another challenge over at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. We are celebrating our 1st Birthday!! It's been an awesome year and we have lots of fun things planned for our birthday celebration. Be sure to check out this month's challenge post for some amazing inspiration.

We are also implementing a few changes to our challenge rules, so be sure to remember the following when creating your June post.

1. You must include the challenge graphic.
2. You must comment on at least 3 design team member's blogs to be eligible for prizes and recognitions.
3. You may combine with 4 other challenges.

Also, our sponsor this month is Maya Road and they are offering 2 prizes filled with Maya Road Goodness to our 2 lucky random winners.

Our theme this month is "A Year of Choices." You can pick out any theme we have done over the past year. How fun is that? For my project I used several themes: Spray Inks, Around the House, Stamps and Flowers.

I made a very Patriotic American Shadowbox. Since Memorial Day was last week and the 4th of July is coming up and I bought an awesome new Unity Stamp Company Patriotic Stamp set, I was in the mood to make some thing red, white and blue.

Michaels has had these 7 Gypsies Shadowboxed in the Clearance section a while now and I finally picked one up.

To create the background I brushed on some Decorate Twinkles Glitter Paint in Blue Galaxy.

Then I sprayed on Decoart Spray Ink in Primary Cyan and Maya Road Spray Mist in Strawberry.

Here's the final project.

When I was trying to decide what to do, I thought my big Unity Flag Stamp would fit perfectly in the big opening - and it did!! I also used the smaller round star with stripes Unity stamp. I used Decorate Media Matte Medium to adhere the stamped images to a piece of thick chipboard before I adhered them to the box. I stamped Let Freedom Ring on a Maya Road Ticket and stenciled a red star on the ticket with Decoart paint and an Andy Skinner Stencil. I attached it to the shadowbox with a Maya Road Mini Clothespin in White.

In the lower left corner of the box I added a Maya Road Kraft Flower that I colored with Stampers Big Brush pens in red and blue. Then I added a wood 4 and 3 blue Maya Road flowers. For the rest of the embellishments I used stickers from various companies. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play with us this month!!
