I created a this page in my Wendy Vecchi Fat Little Mini Book. I stamped her background stamp in Archival Ink and colored in each square with different Archival Ink Colors and a small blender tool. The large flower is a Wendy Vecchi Art Part. I heat embossed it with a mixture of distress embossing powders and enamel embossing powder to add more texture. I added a Wendy Vecchi button and tied a bow with Tim Holtz trim. The stamp is a Wendy Vecchi wood mount stamps, I only used a part of the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #16
It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.
This week we have a Photo Inspiration Challenge. It's never too early to start on
your Christmas cards! I can't wait to see what you create.
For my card I used the Papertrey, Inc. Jar Fillers set. The sentiments is from Hero Arts and the background stamp is from Stampin' Up. I heat embossed the white snowflakes and sentiment. I think this is sort of an interesting rustic Christmas card. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #13
It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges.
This week we have a Photo Inspiration. It's never too early to start on your Christmas cards! I can't wait
to see what you create.
Of course I was inspired by the purple background. I created my purple background using my new Tim Holtz crayons in Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire. The white tree and sentiment are embossed. I used more of the Chipped Sapphire on the sentiment so it would stand out from the purple background. I used Hero Arts Family and Friends Christmas stamps. Thanks for stopping by!

Unity Friends With Flair Friday
This is my Unity Friends With Flair Entry. I'm got another back to one of my Faber Castell Design Memory Craft chipboard mini journal pages.
First, I heat embossed the Dandelion Stamp and sentiment in white. Then I blended some Distress Inks on the page. I used Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Wild Honey Distress inks. When I finished with the colors I sprayed some water on the top to create some texture on the surface of the colors. It was a quick, easy and fun mini journal page. Thanks for stopping by!!

5 for 5 Easter Blog Event - Day 5
Hello and welcome to Day 5 of our new 5 for 5 Easter Blog Event! Today’s theme is "CAS"! Some of us are offering prizes, so be sure to leave comments on each of links below and visit all the blogs for details on how to win!
I used a fun Unity Stamp on this card called Dying Eggs. I'm entering this card into the Unity Friday Friends with Flair Challenge.
My card isn't the most CAS card I've ever made, but I really wanted to use this Unity Easter Stamp and try some multicolor heat embossing. I used green, pink and blue Stampin' Up Embossing Powders. I outlined the embossed image with a slightly bigger panel of Certainly Celery card stock also from Stampin' Up. I thought it needed just a little something else, so I sprayed the background with one spray each of a blue, green and pink spray from Lindy's Stamp Gang. To finish it off I added a little light green twine from Stampin' Up.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to visit the blogs of the other awesome designers taking part in our Easter 5 for 5 Event. Thanks so much for joining us this week and I hope you're inspired to make some amazing Easter cards and crafts. We'll be doing 5 for 5 again at Halloween, so be on the lookout for the dates on my sidebar graphic sometime in September.

Today, I'm showing a card I made using a super cute stamp set from My Favorite Things. I just love the snowman image and the sentiment. First, I heat embossed the snowman then I used my Distress Inks that I rubbed on an acrylic block and watercolored in the snowman. I dotted the background with a white gel pen to look like snow. I used watercolor paper and card stock from my stash and a Stampin' Up border punch to finish off this fun card. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Day 3!

PTI Make It Monday #160
After I watched the Make It Monday video I thought my Funky Florals would be the perfect stamps to use for this week's Make It Monday Challenge. So, I stamped the flowers in three different sizes in Melon Berry, Plum Pudding, and Hawaiian Shores. Then I embossed the centers with White Filigree Embossing Powder. Then I stamped the middle of each flower with the second step for each stamps in another color. It turned out better than I thought it would.
Anybody who knows me or follows me knows I don't do a lot of heat embossing. It's just not my thing. I always seem to get extra embossing where I don't want it and for some reason that makes me crazy!! But, these turned out OK. I also used New Leaf Paper and Doodlie-Do leaf dies to make the leaves. I stamped on the leaves with New Leaf ink. I enjoyed learning the tip on how to use the die on an image that is already stamped. I will definitely do that in the future and it worked great. I was lucky to have two step stamps and matching dies so I could do this technique without much trouble.
I adhered all the pieces to a card base made from PTI Kraft paper and the sentiment is from the Doodlie-Do stamp set. Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate the Season
I made this card for A Blog Named Hero challenge. The challenge is to take an old card and make a new version of it. I made a card with the Car with Tree stamp last year for a 90 Minute Flickr Scramble and I decided to remake it. This time I embossed the snowflakes and added bling to the centers. I also added glitter paper on the bottom and changed the sentiment to Celebrate the Season. The stamps I used were all Hero Arts - Holiday Sayings, Car with Tree, & Stunning Snowflakes. Thanks for taking a look!

Seasons Greetings
Here's my 3rd card as the July Guest Designer over at the Christmas Card Challenges Blog. The challenge this week is to use the Emboss Resist Technique. I used the Hero Arts background stamp called Stunning Snowflakes. I embossed the background stamp in white and then mixed several colors of Tim Holtz Distress Stains to make the blue color. The snowmen stamps and sentiment are from a Paper Smooches set called Swanky Snowdudes. Why not try some emboss resist and get a head start on your Christmas cards. Thanks for stopping by!

Gel-a-tins Wednesday - Heat Embossing
I haven't posted since last Wednesday. I went to Baltimore to visit my brother last week and had a great Thanksgiving. We did our Thanksgiving Day ritual. I went to the pool with my brother Bob Bowman at 5 a.m. and I ran 5 miles and then walked and biked for another hour while he coached practice. Michael Phelps was there practicing with the other swimmers and he looked like he's ready for London 2012. When we left I was ready to eat everything I could - and I did - and it was all so good!!
Today I'm sharing my Gel-a-tins Wednesday card. This card uses the Gel-a-tins Fancy Doily Stamp Set and heat embossing. For all the details check out the Gel-a-tins Blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Hero Arts Holiday Trees Card
Yay!! I finally had time to make a card. I have so many new Hero Arts Christmas stamps that I've been dying to use so tonight I used some of my new stamps for this card. I wanted to be more like my friend Barb and have an interesting embossed background so I used clear embossing powder on the background, then sponged over it with Iced Spruce and Broken China Distress Inks and sprayed it with Vanilla Smooch Spritz Spray. You can't really tell, but the background is very shiny from the Smooch Spritz. Then I stamped the trees in Iced Spruce and Broken China, cut them out, and adhered with foam tape. No challenges for this one - just fun for me. Thanks for taking a look!!

What's Cooking?
I'm entering this card into the Moxie Fab World Stamp It Cards Week Challenge. I got some new Stampin' Up items yesterday that I decided to use. Since the idea is to concentrate on stamping I used a new stamp called Now You're Cooking and embossed it in white on this great new Domestic Goddess decorative paper. I think the white embossing makes it really stand out and becomes the focus of this very domesticated card. It's a perfect card for a person who loves to cook or bake. Thanks for taking a look!
