Christmas Card Challenges #22

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have an Inspiration Photo challenge with the nativity scene at night.  It's time to start making your Christmas Cards.

To make this card used papers from a Recollections Christmas Foil Paper Collection - Script on the top and gold marbled not he bottom. Then I silver heat embossed the three Wise Men and cut the circle out with a circle punch. The stamp is from Papertrey Ink. It's so shiny that it was hard to photograph but it's very pretty in real life. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #4

It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge. This time we have a Photo Challenge. There's no time like the "present" to get started on your cards for next year. I can't wait to see what you create.

For my card I used gold foil papers by Craft Smith from Michaels from a stack called Gold Gifts. I was inspired by the colors in the photo. I added some Xmas Red Stickles to the gold berries and I die cut the word peace in red glitter paper. The peace word die is from Papertrey Ink.  This was a fun and easy card that would be perfect for making in multiples.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Christmas Card Challenges #49

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have everybody's favorite theme - Anything Goes.  I can't wait to see what you create!

To created this card I actually used a piece of card stock from a Recollections Halloween stack called Midnight Magic.  I die cut a label out of black glitter paper and then die cut the Merry Christmas words from Papertrey Ink dies called Wet Paint Holiday Dies. Once again, this was a quick and easy card but really fun to make. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #16

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Photo Inspiration Challenge. It's never too early to start on your Christmas cards! I can't wait to see what you create.

For my card I used the Papertrey, Inc. Jar Fillers set. The sentiments is from Hero Arts and the background stamp is from Stampin' Up. I heat embossed the white snowflakes and sentiment. I think this is sort of an interesting rustic Christmas card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #7

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a photo inspiration challenge. It's time to start thinking about next year, so why not get started on next years card while your Christmas products are still close at hand. I can't wait to see what you create.

I was inspired by all the gold. I used the Craft Smith Gold Gift paper stack from Michaels for this card. There was a large 12x12 paper with white trees along the bottom. I cut the paper into thirds and made three card from that piece of paper. I added the word Peace which is a Papertrey, Ink die that I cut with glitter paper. I thought the glitter looked good with gold foil background. I mounted the card on a piece of white glitter paper. Adding some bling helps to finish off simple cards and make them look much more classy. This was a super easy card to make multiples of. Be sure to check out papers you already own and think about how you can make cards out of them. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day

Here's  quick card I made for my dad from the PTI stamps set and dies called On the Links. I like this set because it has several different golf images can use and I have used it for several years now.  It's also the set I used for a Father's Day card that was the last card I had published in PaperCrafts Magazine before it closed. I used paper from October Afternoon and the ink is Not Quite Navy from Stampin' Up. Thanks for stopping by!

Howdy Cactus

I'm entering this card into the current Lawnscaping Challenge - to add Dimension and Virginias View Challenge - Layers and Dimension. I used a new to me Lawn Fawn stamp set and dies called Stuck on You.  I created the background using Pan Pastels and die cut it with a stitched circle die. I was hoping to get the feel of a beautiful Arizona sunset that I've heard about and seen in pictures. I used PTI inks in Mowed Lawn, Hibiscus Burst and Chocolate Brown. I adhered the flowers to the cacti with foam tape and adhered the cacti to the background with foam tape to add dimension. To add a little more dimension and color I added a panel of DCWV Burlap paper. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #6

It's time for this week's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week is a really fun Challenge. We were supposed to CASE a card made previously by one of the other Design Team Members. I decided to use a card by Alanna Moses for my inspiration. I loved how she created this flawless background by blending Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

Here is the card from Alanna. You can see the original post HERE.

I created my background using Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and Barn Door Distress Inks. The deer head is a die from Ellen Hutson and the words are dies by Papertrey Ink. I also inked the edges using a Prima Ink Edger in Black Coal. It's a different kind of Christmas Card, but I love how it turned out. I'm excited to see what you come up with this week for this fun challenge. Just pick any previous card by one our DT Members and be inspired. Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #6 - Stamps

It's time for a new challenge over at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge!! This month our challenge is to use stamps in your mixed media project. Our sponsor is Unity Stamp Company and they are generously offering a $50 gift certificate to our lucky random winner!! All our designers used fabulous Unity stamps in their designs. Be sure to click over and see all the amazing creations our designers made for this months challenge.

I made a little wall hanging for my project. I started with a piece of fiberboard that I think I ordered from Scarlet Lime. I really like how one side of it is textured like burlap. I made that side the front. Then I added a corrugated cardboard panel and I inked the panel and edges with the Sepia Ink. I put an orange Tim Holtz trim around the cardboard panel. Finally, I added a Tim Holtz Holiday Thanksgiving trim for the hanger and attached it with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

To make the turkey, I used an awesome set from Unity called Build-A-Turkey. I stamped all the feathers on different "fall" colored cardstock from Papertrey Ink and Stampin' Up using Ranger Sepia Archival Ink and cut them out. I adhered the wings and the turkey to the panel and added Espresso sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to each of the feathers. Then I added Fired Brick Distress Stickles to the turkey for a little accent. The sentiment banner is a die from Papertrey Ink and I added two orange sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. It was super fun to make and I really like how it turned out.

I hope you will play along with our stamps challenge this month. I can't wait to see what you create!!

Rachel's Birthday Blog Hop

Today is a special day. It's Rachel Kleinman's birthday. Yay!! Rachel is my crafty BFF. She's also co-founder of the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge with me. She is so nice and fun and super crafty. Unfortunately, she has had a not so great week so I asked all the Design Team Members from the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge to create birthday cards for her and have a little blog hop in her honor to wish her a happy birthday and help her feel better.

Here's a selfie we took last month. She came to visit me and we spent a few days in Charleston, SC. I've grown up in SC and love it here. It's so much fun to show off the cool places in my state to first timers like Rachel. We had a great time.

This is the card I mailed Rachel. We both really love Papertrey Ink and I made this card a few months ago for a Make It Monday challenge. I thought it would be perfect for Rachel because she loves these colors and like me she loves the PTI graphic images. So, here it is.

I want to wish Rachel a very Happy Birthday and an amazing year ahead that promises to be VERY eventful. Now, you should move along to Lynn Adams blog to see the pretty card Lynn made for Rachel. Also, be sure to head on over to Rachel's blog and wish her Happy Birthday. I know she would love that! Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Card Challenges #34

It's time for another challenge at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have an inspiration photo to inspire you to make a yummy Christmas Card. I was really inspired by the bold red and green and the especially the red tablecloth these cookies are sitting on. I also love cookies so this picture is right up my alley.  I used stamps by Papertrey Ink to make this card. I colored the cookies with Copic Markers in Malachite and Lipstick Red. Then I added Liquid Pearls in White Opal for the sprinkles. I also colored the lid with Copics. Then I added some coordinating papers from Hollyday by American Crafts. The papers were bold and just the colors I was looking for. I hope you will play with us this week. I can't wait to see how this photo inspires you. Thanks for stopping by!

Curtain Call Challenge - Sweet Pea

I made this card for the current Curtain Call Challenge - Sweet Pea. I really love pinks and purples so I knew I had to play this week. I started out trying to do the embossed, chalk technique from Make-it-Monday at Papertrey Ink, but I stamped too many flowers and you can't see the texture or really tell there is a chalk background so I change it up a little. I used PTI inks in Lavender Moon, Plum Pudding and Winter Wisteria. The stamps I used were PTI Fillable Frames and Funky Florals. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up. Thanks for stopping by!

Here's my card.
