Christmas Card Challenged #48

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Word Prompt Challenge - Gitter.  This is a fun one and I can't wait to see what you create!

This card was super easy, when you get a collection it's fun to use different elements because they all go together. I used paper and embellishments from the BoBunny Altitude Collection. After I put the card together I added some some pearls and rhinestones from the collection on the snowflakes and above the "i".   The snowflakes are very glittery, it's kind of hard to see in the picture. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #47

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Photo Challenge.  I was inspired by the colors and the fact it was a holiday drink. I can't wait to see what you create!

To make this card I used papers from the Crate Paper Bundled Up Collection. I inked all the edges of all the papers including the mug.  The mug die and sentiment stamp are both from My Favorite Things.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #35

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Photo Inspiration Challenge with Snowflakes.  It's never too early to get started on your Christmas Cards. I hope you will join us this week!

For my card, I used a a grunge board Christmas ornament that I made a few years ago. I love to find a way to use something I made, but never did anything with.  The background paper is a masterboard I made from PaperArtsy paints and stamps. Thanks for stopping by!

Fun Friday Crafts Sponsored by DecoArt

Last Friday I made crafts with the students at the school where I teach, Chapin Middle School. We used DecoArt DecoPage and Americana Enamel Gloss to decorate glass jars and recycled cardboard ornaments. The students used the DecoPage to adhere patterned papers and die cut snowflakes, trees, and stars to the jars and ornaments. Some also used DecoArt Enamel Paints to paint their glass jars. A huge thanks to DecoArt who generously donated DecoPage for us to use at this event.

The students had fun decorating the glass jars using die cut shapes and DecoPage

Some of the students used DecoArt Americana Gloss Enamel Paints
to paint their glass jars before adding their die cuts.

They also created some beautiful ornaments made from recycled cereal boxes,
patterned papers, and die cuts.

These were a couple of fun and easy projects that used recycled materials and allowed the students to use their creativity. They are perfect projects for kids to work on over the holidays. If you are inspired to try projects like these, please let me know. I would love to see what you make.

Happy Holidays!!

Christmas Card Challenges #47

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a photo inspiration challenge. I was inspired by the snow globe and the colors. I used my new Papertrey Ink Snow Globe Shaker Die. The trees are foam stickers I had in my stash and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. The snowflake dies came with the snow globe and I added round dots of Stickles around them to look like snow. I'm can't wait to see what you come up with this week for this fun challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Here is the inspiration photo:

Here's my card.

Christmas Card Challenges #38

Welcome to this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges. This week the challenge is to use embossing dry or heat embossing. I heat embossed this snowman and sentiment from Denami Designs on Not Quite Navy paper from Stampin' Up.  Then I added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for some fun "snow" accents. The background snowflake paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I can't wait to see what embossed creations everyone makes this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #32

It's Sunday, so that means we're starting another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week our challenge is to use a tag. You can make just a tag or a card with a tag on it. To make this card I started with a green tag that I had in my drawer of tags that use to wipe up my craft mat after using spray inks. Then I mixed some glitter in some modeling paste and applied it over a Dylusions Snowflake stencil. It makes a nice sparkly, dimensional background.

I made the rest of this tag using my all time favorite Christmas Paper Collection - Crate Paper Snow Day. I found a new 12x12 pad of this at Tuesday Morning a couple of weeks ago and since I had used up almost all my papers I had to get it. I cut all the snowman and line of "snow" words out of patterned paper. I also used white glitter paper and a Papertrey Ink die to make the rolling hills. I topped it off with some jute twine from Papertrey Ink. I hope you will play with us this week and I can't wait to see what you create! Thanks for stopping by!

Day 10 of the 12 Days of Holiday Projects 201

Welcome to Day 10 of the 12 Days of Holiday Inspiration Blog Event brought to you by "The Inspiration Crew".  We’re just a group of online crafty friends who love being creative. This time we're doing a 12-day event to provide you with tons of Holiday Inspiration.
We're making crafty projects using products we like and some of us are even offering prizes. Check each blog and the information there for what prizes are being offered and when the winners will be announced on that blog.

At the bottom of this post is a list of all the crafty ladies participating in this event. Be sure to visit all the blogs each day for loads of fun Holiday craft ideas.

I'm offering prize!! My prize is a $20 gift card to Michaels. I will announce the winner on my blog on Friday, December 13. To be eligible just make sure you are a follower of my blog and leave a comment. The more days you leave a comment, the more chances you have to win. So that's it - easy peasy

This year I have a theme to my projects - it's called use what you have and keep it simple. For those of you who don't know me, I've been busy building a house this year. The process started last February and construction started in early June. I sold my old house and moved in with my parents last May. So, I have not been nearly as crafty as I like to be this year, I just haven't had the time or the space.

I haven't purchased any new holiday stamps, just a couple of new 6x6 papers pads, Distress Glitters and some clearance embellishments when I was in London on vacation. So, if you are overloaded with supplies, I challenge you to start using up your stash instead of always buying the latest and greatest. I'm going to show you some quick and easy projects over the next 12 days that you can make using things you already own.

Today I have yet another super easy idea to use up some of your stash. I've had some felt around for ages. I always imagine I'll sew some cute little ornaments, but that hasn't happened yet. Then, when I was in Hallmark last week I saw a present decoration that was a felt snowflake covered in rhinestones and of course I thought, I can do that for free! So I just ran a white piece of felt through my Big Shot using a big Sizzix Snowflake Die. I was unsure how it would work in the Big Shot, but I was happily surprised to see it cut the felt perfectly!! Then, I just added some sticky back rhinestones and after a week, none have fallen off yet. I decided to use it on this present for my mom instead of a bow. It would also look great hanging from a bag. And, it can be used as an ornament after the present is open. So easy, fun and quick!

12 Days of Holiday Projects - Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of The 12 Days of Holiday Projects Blog Event. Several crafty blog friends and I decided to post one holiday project a day for 12 days - just for fun.  The projects will be anything crafty like cards, ornaments, wreaths, advent calendars, etc… We’re posting projects we made using products we like and hope they will give you some inspiration for your own holiday craft projects. You will find links to all the other participating bloggers below. Hopefully you can find time to look at the other blogs and leave comments on any that inspire you. If we inspire you to make, something please let us know - we would love to see. Happy Holiday Crafting!!

For my Day 8 Project I'm sharing a snowflake wreath I made. I order several different sizes and styles of wooden snowflakes from Internet craft stores (I've had them a while and don't remember where I got them from!!). I got a flat wooden circle frame from Michaels and painted it white and I hot glued the snowflakes on the frame. Each snowflake is three layers - a large colored one, a medium one that is white and a small one that is the same color as the larger one. I covered all of them in Martha Stewart Glitter Glue and then dipped them in Martha Stewart fine glitter using cool winter colors - white, purples, blues, & silver. I love the shiny look of the fine glitter and I really love these colors. It's hanging on my craft room door. I keep thinking I should add a bow, but I don't want to cover any of the shiny snowflakes!! Thanks for stopping by and hope you will come back tomorrow to check out my Day 9 project.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can make it to the blogs of the other ladies to see the awesome holiday projects they are sharing with you today.

12 Days of Holiday Projects - Day 7

Welcome to Day 7 of The 12 Days of Holiday Projects Blog Event. Several crafty blog friends decided to post one holiday project a day for 12 days - just for fun.

For my Day 7 project I'm sharing a card that I'm entering into the one of my favorite challenges - Cupcake Craft Challenges. The theme for this week is It'll be White on the Night - they want white with white and a little more white. It took a while to get this snowman interesting (not sure how much you can tell in the photo), he has many layers of Tim Holtz crackle paint, Perfect Pearls Mist and Martha Stewart Glitter. I die cut the hills on white glitter paper. The buttons, embossing folder and tinsel trim are from Stampin' Up. The hill dies are PTI. The snowman die and trim are Tim Holtz. The buttons are from Michaels and the rick rack is from my local fabric store. This card has a lot elements which is a little beyond my normal comfort zone - but I like how it turned out. Thanks for taking a look and I hope you stop back tomorrow for my Day 8 project.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will be able to visit the other girls on the list below and check out their fun holiday projects!!

Hero Arts Flickr 90 Minute Scramble

I made this card for tonight's Hero Arts Flickr Group 90 Minute Scramble. I used a stamp called Snowman and Snowflakes and the sentiment is from a set called Snow Much Joy. I also added some shimmery pearls on some of the snowflakes. Thanks for taking a look!
