We're making crafty projects using products we like and some of us are even offering prizes. Check each blog and the information there for what prizes are being offered and when the winners will be announced on that blog.

I'm offering a prize box, check back each day. I'll have picture of my prize posted soon!! I'll announce the winner of my blog candy on Saturday, December 13. To qualify for my prize make sure you are a follower of my blog and leave a comment. The more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win!!

Below is a list of all the crafty ladies participating in this event. Be sure to visit all the blogs each day for loads of fun, prizes, and Holiday craft ideas.

Today, I'm sharing an ornament I made for a Prima Doll Christmas Ornament Swap. I love participating in swaps and I love Prima Doll Stamps so it's a win win. The challenge was to make an ornament from die cuts and wings. I used papers from the Crate Paper Bundled Up Collection. To make the ornament I die cut a Tim Holtz Ornament using grunge paper and then cut an oval out of the top of the ornament.

I covered the back of the ornament opening with a newsprint paper and painted the ornament with Tim Holtz Crackle Glaze in Pine Needles. Then I covered it with Sparkle Mod Podge. I added a red glitter brad from Stampin' Up to the bottom and used some small stickers to make the "holly" in her hair. I painted the top of the ornament with Pewter Distress Paint. I love how it turned out. The fun die cut technique could be used for lots of things. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Day 7!

12 Days of Holiday Projects - Day 7

Welcome to Day 7 of The 12 Days of Holiday Projects Blog Event. Several crafty blog friends decided to post one holiday project a day for 12 days - just for fun.  The projects will be anything crafty like cards, ornaments, wreaths, advent calendars, etc… We’re posting projects we made using products we like and hope they will give you some inspiration for your own holiday craft projects. You will find links to all the other participating bloggers below. Hopefully you can find time to look at the other blogs and leave comments on any that inspire you. If we inspire you to make, something please let us know - we would love to see. Happy Holiday Crafting!!

For my Day 7 project I'm sharing a card that I'm entering into the one of my favorite challenges - Cupcake Craft Challenges. The theme for this week is It'll be White on the Night - they want white with white and a little more white. It took a while to get this snowman interesting (not sure how much you can tell in the photo), he has many layers of Tim Holtz crackle paint, Perfect Pearls Mist and Martha Stewart Glitter. I die cut the hills on white glitter paper. The buttons, embossing folder and tinsel trim are from Stampin' Up. The hill dies are PTI. The snowman die and trim are Tim Holtz. The buttons are from Michaels and the rick rack is from my local fabric store. This card has a lot elements which is a little beyond my normal comfort zone - but I like how it turned out. Thanks for taking a look and I hope you stop back tomorrow for my Day 8 project.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will be able to visit the other girls on the list below and check out their fun holiday projects!!

Tim Holtz Tags Day 3 - Inspiration Tag

I woke up early and got started on todays tag that was inspired by Tim Holtz Day 3 of his 12 Tags of Christmas event. Here is the inspiration tag.

Here's my tag.

Here's what I did:

First, since I didn't have a kraft tag I sponged on distress ink in Frayed Burlap and Antique Linen. Then I inked the large Hero Arts Background stamp with the three holiday distress inks - Festive Berries, Evergreen Baugh and Iced Spruce and stamped it on the tag. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress Ink.

For the leaves I used a Spellbinders die and used grunge paper. I colored the leaves with Evergreen Pine Distress Stain and sanded the edges. I glued them to the tag with glossy accents. Then I added red rhinestones for the berries.

For the top I just added a canvas ribbon. The star is a Spellbinder die on grunge paper. I put tissue tape on the star, colored it with a copic marker and inked the edges with my gold dabber. Then I added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the tape and dried it with the heat gun. I attached it to the tag with Stampin Up Linen Thread. I thought the star looked interesting after it wrinkled up when I used the heat gun on it to dry the Distress Stickles.  Here's a close up picture. The colored twine is called Christmas from Doodlebug Designs. Thanks for taking a look!
