Christmas Card Challenges #15 - Anything Goes

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have everybody's favorite "Anything Goes". It's never too early to start on your Christmas cards! I can't wait to see what you create.

For my card I used papers and die curs form the Kaisercraft Holly Jolly Collection. I didn't have a lot ot time and I love to put all the elements together and it's really easy when they are all from the same collection. You could make a lot of theses quickly. Thanks for stopping by!

Today, I'm sharing an ornament I made for a Prima Doll Christmas Ornament Swap. I love participating in swaps and I love Prima Doll Stamps so it's a win win. The challenge was to make an ornament from die cuts and wings. I used papers from the Crate Paper Bundled Up Collection. To make the ornament I die cut a Tim Holtz Ornament using grunge paper and then cut an oval out of the top of the ornament. 

I covered the back of the ornament opening with a newsprint paper and painted the ornament with Tim Holtz Crackle Glaze in Pine Needles. Then I covered it with Sparkle Mod Podge. I added a red glitter brad from Stampin' Up to the bottom and used some small stickers to make the "holly" in her hair. I painted the top of the ornament with Pewter Distress Paint. I love how it turned out. The fun die cut technique could be used for lots of things. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Day 7!

Today, I'm sharing a card I made items found in the December 2014 Maya Road Sparkle & Shine Kit. I really love this kit and I've made tons of different things from it. This one uses paper from Fancy Pants the exclusive Maya Road Christmas Stamp, twine and glitter tape. It's a simple, but pretty card that was really fun to make. Inspiration Emporium Monthly Challenge - Christmas in June

I was inspired to make this card for the Inspiration Emporium Monthly Challenge - Christmas in June. I used the all Tim Holtz supplies. First, I stamped the Ornament Blueprint stamp twice and cut out the ornament and placed it on top of the first stamp with foam dots to add a little dimension. I colored the ornament with Distress Markers and used Holidays Past papers (my favorite of Tim's Christmas papers). Then I added a holiday word band and attached it with paper string. I love making Christmas cards and really love using a blueprint stamp so this one was super fun to make. Thanks for stopping by!

This year I have a theme to my projects - it's called use what you have and keep it simple. For those of you who don't know me, I've been busy building a house this year. The process started last February and construction started in early June. I sold my old house and moved in with my parents last May. So, I have not been nearly as crafty as I like to be this year, I just haven't had the time or the space. 

I haven't purchased any new holiday stamps, just a couple of new 6x6 papers pads, Distress Glitters and some clearance embellishments when I was in London on vacation. So, if you are overloaded with supplies, I challenge you to start using up your stash instead of always buying the latest and greatest. I'm going to show you some quick and easy projects over the next 12 days that you can make using things you already own.

Today I used my large ornament die again. I cut the ornaments and shapes out in grunge board. The wreath is a Tim Holtz die and the holly berries are Sizzix. I covered those images with Tim Holtz Distress glitters in Festive Berries and Mowed Lawn. I color the ornaments with metallic Distress stains. I cut the tops of the two ornaments on the right in silver glitter paper. I also used two silver letter stickers on the Joy card. Imagine how many letters you could use if you made several ornaments with just words on them!! The ornament on the right is covered in American Crafts glitter tape and on the red sections I added Green Bling on a Roll (which is by Recollections and you can buy at Michaels) to add some interest and shine. These are perfect for cards and decorating bags and presents.

Day 8 of the 12 Days of Holiday Projects & Denami Razzle Dazzle Blog Hop

Welcome Day 8 of the 12 Days of Holiday Inspiration AND today I'm also participating in the Denami Razzle Dazzle Blog Hop (which starts at 9AM EST). I'm so excited to be able to participate again this month. 

I love Denami Stamps and I thought this little Denami Stamps Peek-a-boo Penguin in this circular sentiment was just too cute. Since I used two stamps, you can even use other images for the center. I colored the Penguin with Copic Markers and punched it out with a circle punch. I added Glossy Accents to the trim on the Penguin's hat and covered it with White Distress Glitter. Then I put it on a circle made from silver glitter paper. I've had this awesome ornament die for years, so I punched it using a teal color glitter paper and made the top of the ornament from the silver glitter paper. I put it on Real Red card stock from Stampin' Up. I hope it's enough Razzle Dazzle!!

For my Day 11 Project I'm sharing some more ornaments I made with my favorite large Sizzix ornament die. When I got my second order of Claudine Hellmuth acrylic paints, I LOVED the teal color and I was inspired to make these teal ornaments with some Tim Holtz retro dies. These are definitely non-traditional ornaments in color and subject matter, but I really like them and think they would look great on a tree. 

To make them, I die cut the ornaments from Tim Holtz Grunge Board and painted the ball Teal and I painted the hanger with Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Crackle Paint. When it dried I went over the ornament with Black Soot distress ink (see www.timholtz.com) and sprayed it with Perfect Pearls Mist. Then I die cut the shapes and painted them with black acrylic paint and Brushed Pewter crackle paint for the accents. The fabric hanger is Tim Holtz trim that I died with Brushed Pewter Distress Stain. I glued them on with Glossy Accents. They were really fun to make!  I can't believe we only have 1 day left. I have a big project to show you tomorrow. I hope you can stop by to see my Day 12 project.

12 Days of Holiday Projects - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of The 12 Days of Holiday Projects Blog Event. The project I'm sharing for Day 3 is a set of 3 ornaments. To make these I used a large ornament die from Sizzix and cut it out in Grungboard. I painted the tops with Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Crackle Paint. I painted the colors on the ornaments using Claudine Helmuth acrylic paints and then I sprayed them with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearls to give them a little sheen. Then, I used Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions stencils and the acrylic paints to paint on the images. When it dried I put Stickles in a matching color over the images. I love how colorful and fun these turned out. And, they were easy too.

Lawnscaping Challenge #33

I made this card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge - Clean & Simple. I chose Ornate Ornaments for one of my publication incentive sets, so I just got it and I really wanted to use it. I love the bold graphic ornaments in this Lawn Fawn stamps set. This is just a simple stamped card. I colored the ornament with Copics and added some rhinestones. The sentiment was created from words in the Cozy Christmas set. The decorative paper is from Echo Park - Holly Jolly Christmas. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Camp Christmas Projects

We had a great time last night at stamp camp. The ladies had fun making the cards I posted yesterday, but since it is December we had to do a couple Christmas items too. They made their versions of this year's Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas Day 4 tag and they made pretty crackled ornaments. You can see Tim's Tag here and the instructions for his crackle technique (which is so fun and easy) here. They're going to decorate their ornaments more at home - I love projects they can personalize and I can't wait to see what they come up with. Thanks for taking a look!
