Christmas Card Challenges #4

It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge. This time we have a Photo Challenge. There's no time like the "present" to get started on your cards for next year. I can't wait to see what you create.

For my card I used gold foil papers by Craft Smith from Michaels from a stack called Gold Gifts. I was inspired by the colors in the photo. I added some Xmas Red Stickles to the gold berries and I die cut the word peace in red glitter paper. The peace word die is from Papertrey Ink.  This was a fun and easy card that would be perfect for making in multiples.  Thanks for stopping by!!

3-D Christmas Cards with Concord & 9th.

I was so happy when Ellen Hutson had a Christmas sale several weeks ago. I was finally able to purchase the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage Stamp & Die set and they were 30% off!! The best way to figure out how to make these fun scenes is to watch the Concord & 9th Video that takes you step by step how to cut the papers to the right sizes and get started correctly. I would suggest making several of these at once because it does take some thought and concentration to cut everything to right size. Here is a link to the video. https://youtu.be/kK-Y74kRI_A They have a pdf you can look at also.

I made about 10 of them and I used different background colors to see what colors I liked the best. Some got mailed before I took photos, but I made sure to keep these to and photograph them before they got sent out. I was happy with all of them. I stamped with colored inks after die cutting all the elements and I used Stickles along the snow lines to add some interest. I used my Signo white gel pen to make dots on the colored paper that can be snow or stars. The sentiment is from a PinkFresh holiday stamp set. These were really fun to make but they took time so make sure you don't have to rush through them when you decide to make them

Hope these give you some inspiration for using these super fun and unique dies and stamps.

Christmas Card Challenges #9

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have some color inspiration. It's time to start thinking about next year, so why not get started on next years card while your Christmas products are still close at hand. I can't wait to see what you create.

I used a DCWV Christmas stack to create this card. I love to make cards using papers from the same stack and just using parts of the large 12x12 papers. I added the Ellen Hutson "Joy" die cut that I covered with brown Stickles and then I added some red and gold Stickles to the wreath just to make it look more polished. Adding some bling helps to finish off simple cards and make them look much more classy. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #21

It's time for this week's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week our Challenge is everybody's favorite, "ANYTHING GOES"!  I hope you will get a head start on your Christmas cards and join us this week. We now pick a weekly winner and honorable mentions! Thanks for stopping by!

For my card I used a large wooden stamp that I found on clearance at my LSS. They are discontinuing all wood stamps so I couldn't resist this cute Christmas vignette. I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic Markers. I think it needed a little bling so I pulled out my Stickles and went a little Stickles crazy. Now it has plenty of bling!! Just a fun and easy card to make. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #52

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have an inspiration photo challenge. Since the colors were sort of dark and it's a tree, I was inspired to make a card using my Tim Holtz Blue Prints Tree stamp. I colored the images with Distress Markers and added some Stickles to the star and the ornaments. The colored papers match Tim's color palette, they're Kraft Coordinations. I'm excited to see what you come up with this week for this fun challenge. Thanks for stopping by!'

Christmas Card Challenges #24

It's my first post for Christmas Card Challenges. I'm so happy to be on their design team. This week the challenge is to make a Christmas, Holiday, or Winter card using dry embossing. For this card, I dry embossed this Tim Holtz snowman with an embossing folder and cut him out. Then I covered the snowman in Tim Holtz Clear Rock Candy Stickles to give him more depth and a little sparkle. I used snowflake paper from a DCWV paper pad called Jingle Bells. I colored around the edges with a White Faber Castell Stamper's Big Brush Pen. Finally, I added Goodness Thickers by Amy Tangerine for the sentiment.

Be sure to head on over to the Christmas Card Challenges Blog and check out all the inspiration from the other designers. Then, get started early on your holiday cards!! I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge.

12 Days of Holiday Projects - Day 9

Welcome to Day 9 of The 12 Days of Holiday Projects Blog Event. Several crafty blog friends and I decided to post one holiday project a day for 12 days - just for fun.  The projects will be anything crafty like cards, ornaments, wreaths, advent calendars, etc… We’re posting projects we made using products we like and hope they will give you some inspiration for your own holiday craft projects. You will find links to all the other participating bloggers below. Hopefully you can find time to look at the other blogs and leave comments on any that inspire you. If we inspire you to make, something please let us know - we would love to see. Happy Holiday Crafting!!

For my Day 9 Project I'm sharing a Christmas art journal page. I made the background with Dylusion pink & red ink sprays. I cut the trees and stars using Dylusions stencils on tags and backgrounds that I had in my stash ready to use. I also used Dylusions stamps for the border, reindeer, ornaments and sentiment. I colored the stamped images with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I added Distress Stickles in Scattered Straw to the stars on the trees and a rhinestone to the reindeer's hat. I also used an American Crafts white gel pen on the border berries. I haven't worked in my journal in ages and this page took a really long time to make, but I had a great time creating it. I hope you can stop by tomorrow to see my Day 10 project.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can make it to the blogs of the other ladies to see the awesome holiday projects they are sharing with you today.

I used some Martha Stewart Washi Tape I've had since last year and never used and some die cuts from Little Yellow Bicycle. The star is a wooden star that I covered with gold Stickles.

12 Days of Holiday Projects - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of The 12 Days of Holiday Projects Blog Event. Several crafty blog friends decided to post one holiday project a day for 12 days - just for fun. If we inspire you to make something please let us know - we would love to see. Happy Holiday Crafting!!

The project I'm sharing for Day 3 is a set of 3 ornaments. To make these I used a large ornament die from Sizzix and cut it out in Grungboard. I painted the tops with Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Crackle Paint. I painted the colors on the ornaments using Claudine Helmuth acrylic paints and then I sprayed them with Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearls to give them a little sheen. Then, I used Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions stencils and the acrylic paints to paint on the images. When it dried I put Stickles in a matching color over the images. I love how colorful and fun these turned out. And, they were easy too.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will be able to visit the other ladies blogs and leave them some love. They've been working very hard on some amazing holiday projects to share with you.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #131

We have a group of fun colors this week at The Play Date Cafe - Seaweed, Algae, Goldfish and Black. I used a Paper Smooches stamp set called Party Posse. It took me awhile to sort out these colors, but once I did I had so much fun making this card. I hope you'll play along this week!!

Grungy Monday 34 - 3 Crackle Hearts

Well, I finally felt like making another card this week. This one is for the Grungy Monday 34 - Crackle Resist Technique Challenge. Click here to see Tim's video of how to do the Crackle Resist Technique. I used Tim Holtz Seasonal paper and the hearts are made from grunge board using his Love Struck die heart. For the purple heart I used Dusty Concord Distress Crackle with Picket Fence & Spun Sugar Distress Stains. On the pink heart I used Worn Lipstick Distress Crackle with Dusty Concord Distress Stain. The red heart was made with Fired Brick Distress Crackle and Dusty Concord Distress Stain. To finish off the hearts I covered them in Rock Candy Distress Stickles and used the Gold Dabber on the edges. The sentiment is a fabric sticker from Amy Tangerine that I colored with Spun Sugar Distress Stain. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm also entering this card into the current Cupcake Craft Challenge - All You Need Is Love since that's the theme of this card!!! And I'm also entering in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge - which is a song title.

Grungy Monday - Tim Holtz Valentine Card/Tag

Since I have today off (my last day off for 11 weeks!!) I had some time to do the new Grungy Monday 33 Challenge. The challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp where you can find all these materials. Since I had all my Tim Holtz materials out from the tag I made for last week's challenge it was easy to get going. The challenge was to use Tim's technique of covering a fragment with alcohol ink, stamping on it and rubbing off the black ink. I did it and tried to remember what Tim says "embrace imperfection". Thanks for stopping by!

I covered a card and small tag with Tim Holtz seasonal papers. I made the fragment - it's a little more hot pink than I wanted, but I think the whole thing turned out OK in the end. I stamped some hearts from grunge paper, covered them in Fired Brick Distress ink, then covered them with Fired Brick Distress Stickles. I also die cut some rick rack trim in grunge paper and painted it with Jenny Bowlin Antique Pink chalk ink, then covered it with Rock Candy Distress Stickles. I inked the edges of the card with the Antique Pink and the tag with Old Road chalk ink. Then I added some twine, a mini paper clip and a safety pin.

Materials
1. Paper - Seasonal - Tim Holtz
2. Alcohol Inks - Adirondack
3. Fragment, Mini Paper Clip, Vintage Safety Pin - Tim Holtz
