Mother's Day Inspiration Blog Hop

Welcome to the Mother's Day Inspiration Blog Hop. We're making projects we like, using products we like!! Be sure to check out all the blogs for tons of crafty Mother's Day Inspiration.

On my card I used papers from Kaisercraft's Flora Delight Paper Pad. I love it because it has purple in the color scheme. Purple is my favorite color, but it's hard to find in decorative papers. I used a negative die cut of the Stampin' Up Label Die and I punched a large scallop circle from one of the papers with my Stampin' Up large scallop punch. The other items were all in the paper pad. My favorite thing about this paper pad is all the extras in the back were perforated, so I just pushed them out - no fussy cutting. I wish they were all like that! The sentiment is from Hero Arts. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go check out Rachel's blog. I hear she's offering an awesome prize!!

I made this CAS card for the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop over at Pretty Pink Posh. I used the major jar die and stamps from the Papertrey Ink Friendship Jar set. I colored the lid with Copic markers. In the jar I used sequins from Pretty Pink Posh (Springtime Mix) and Studio Calico. The green paper is Certainly Celery form Stampin' Up. Unity April Be Inspired Challenge

I made this card for the April Unity Be Inspired Card Sketch Challenge. I used a stamp from the Unity March Kit of The Month. It's and awesome kit and so is the March SMAK kit. And, they're both on sale now, you might want to check them out. I colored the image with Copics and used DCWV Spring & Summer Stack papers. Thanks for stopping by!

Here's my card.

DCWV April Sketch Challenge

I made this card for the DCWV April Sketch Challenge. I love these challenges because I really like to mix patterned papers and DCWV has great paper. The flower is a new to me Spellbinders Flower Die that I got on sale when I went to see Dyan Reaveley at Dorothy's Stamps & Scraps last month in Boiling Springs, NC. She has an amazing LSS and I wish it was closer to me. I used DCWV papers from the the Spring & Summer Stack that I got on sale at Joann's last week. I love to actually use the things I buy. The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Hashtags stamp set and the cabochon is from my Studio Calico monthly card kit. Thanks for stopping by!

Here's my card.

Prima Doll Tag

I made this tag for the current Curtain Call Challenge - Confetti Crush. I bought a few of these Prima Doll Stamps because I just think they are so cute. This one is #8 and her name is Olive. Today I got an order from Ellen Hutson that had my Julie Nutting Tag Pad. It's a pad of tags made just for these girls. I really liked the tag because it had a coating on it so it was very strong. When I use it again I will cover it with Mod Podge or Gesso because the slick coating doesn't take ink sprays very well.

I stamped and stenciled and used ink sprays to create the background. I colored her with Copics and paper pieced her outfit and added sequins to her shoes and a clear butterfly to her skirt. I also gave her a rhinestone necklace. Then I added the green and peach colored sequins around her for my "confetti". I used Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers for the sentiment. Finally, I inked the edges and added some trim to the bottom and the top of the tag. Thanks for stopping by!

Here's my tag.

PTI Make It Monday #160

After I watched the Make It Monday video I thought my Funky Florals would be the perfect stamps to use for this week's Make It Monday Challenge. So, I stamped the flowers in three different sizes in Melon Berry, Plum Pudding, and Hawaiian Shores. Then I embossed the centers with White Filigree Embossing Powder. Then I stamped the middle of each flower with the second step for each stamps in another color. It turned out better than I thought it would.

Anybody who knows me or follows me knows I don't do a lot of heat embossing. It's just not my thing. I always seem to get extra embossing where I don't want it and for some reason that makes me crazy!! But, these turned out OK. I also used New Leaf Paper and Doodlie-Do leaf dies to make the leaves. I stamped on the leaves with New Leaf ink. I enjoyed learning the tip on how to use the die on an image that is already stamped. I will definitely do that in the future and it worked great. I was lucky to have two step stamps and matching dies so I could do this technique without much trouble.

I adhered all the pieces to a card base made from PTI Kraft paper and the sentiment is from the Doodlie-Do stamp set. Thanks for stopping by!

Unity Friends With Flair Friday

I made this tag for the Unity Stamp Company Friends With Flair Friday Challenge. The tag was in my stash of tags I made using excess sprays after I use ink sprays. All the stamps are from the Unity March 2014 SMAK Kit. It's my favorite kit EVER!! I just love all the graphic images in it.

I stamped the images with Staz On black ink and colored them with Gelatos. I just colored them with the Gelatos and used some water to smear the color around. I wanted to go over the black edges to lighten them a little so they wouldn't be so prominent. It was like finger painting. Very fun!! The ribbon was just in my stash. It's a simple but I think a fun tag that's cute and easy to make. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

My Week 2 She Art Girl

I finally finished watching all the videos for Week 2 of the first She Art class by Christy Tomlinson. It's a great class and I would recommend any of her classes, she really gives a lot of great insight and tips in her videos and she's very easy to watch. This week I learned how to give her longer hair, accessories and a pleated skirt. I think this girl more proportionate than my first girl, but I guess you always get better with practice. I worked on the canvas background for a at least a week before I decided to finish it off today. Thanks for stopping by!

You Are Here Card

I made this card for the Virginia's View Challenge. The challenge is to use a stencil. I used this US stencil by The Crafter's Workshop. I sprayed the stencil with Heidi Swapp Color Mist in Coral. Then I used several pieces of Heidi Swapp Color Magic Ephemera that I sprayed with Heidi Swapp Color mists in Chartreuse, Mustard, Teal and Cherry Red. The card stock is Neenah White and Tempting Turquoise by Stampin' Up. Thanks for stopping by!

Unity Friends with Flair Friday

I made these cards for the Unity Friends With Flair Friday challenge using the cute Unity stamp called Pretty Easter Find. I colored the image with Copics and used some pretty Easter papers from my stash for the scallop circle and card base. I made 20 of these cards and they are all different, but it's late and I only took pictures of these two. I may add some more tomorrow to this post if I have time. These are just simple and straightforward cards made using pretty papers. The image was really fun to color. Thanks for stopping by!!

Easter Inspiration Blog Hop

Welcome to the Easter Inspiration Blog Hop by The Inspiration Crew.  This hop is just for fun. We’re posting projects we made using products we like and hope they will give you some inspiration for your own Easter craft projects. You will find links to all the other participating bloggers below. Hopefully you can find time to look at all their blogs and leave comments on any that inspire you. Happy Easter Crafting!!

Here's the Easter Bunny Canvas that I made using mostly Tim Holtz products. The grass is Tim Holtz Tinsel. For the sentiment I used Tim Holtz Kraft Core Seasonal Impressions paper. It's so much fun to use this Kraft Core paper - you just sand it down until the words look like you want. For the background I used Tim's Shabby papers and covered with a layer of Gesso. The doodle stamp on the top is from My Favorite Things. The flowers were colored with alcohol inks. The bunny die was painted with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint and then covered with alcohol ink and the bow was covered with Worn Lipstick Distress Stickles. You can find Tim showing these techniques on his web site www.timholtz.com.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the rest of the hop!

She Art Girl 1

I know I'm about 3 years late, but I'm finally taking Christy Tomlinson's She Art Class. She put all her older workshops on sale and I took the opportunity to take her Color Class and the first She Art Class. I love to watch her videos on You Tube, so this class is right up my alley. She had about 10 videos in Week 1 and I loved watching all of them. The first girl we made was very simple and I'm looking forward to week 2 when we add more details. But, since I'm not the least bit artistic, it was good for me to start off with the simple version.

I CANNOT draw, so I was a little scared when I started, but she did such a good job of explaining how to do things that I think I did ok. We didn't really draw anything except the hair and chin line. That was daunting enough for me and I will say that I was really happy with the shape of the hair. I'm just glad she doesn't add facial features!!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop back by this Sunday for the Easter Inspiration Blog Hop. It will be filled with fun and inspiring Easter Projects.
