It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. Our challenge this week is to "Think Skinny" meaning to make a tall and skinny card. I used some papers and stickers from Echo Park Paper and Crate Paper. Then I added some rhinestones to the bottom border. Finally I added some flair from Studio Calico for large ornaments on my little tree. My card is about 6.5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. I'm excited to see what you come up with this week for this fun challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Day 2 of the 12 Days of Holiday Projects 2013
Welcome
to Day 2 of the 12 Days of Holiday Inspiration Blog Event brought to
you by "The Inspiration Crew". We’re just a group of online crafty
friends who love being creative. This time we're doing a 12-day event to
provide you with tons of Holiday Inspiration.
We're
making crafty projects using products we like and some of us are even
offering prizes. Check each blog and the information there for what
prizes are being offered and when the winners will be announced on that
blog.
At
the bottom of this post is a list of all the crafty ladies
participating in this event. Be sure to visit all the blogs each day for
loads of fun Holiday craft ideas.
I'm offering prize!! My prize is a $20 gift card to Michaels. I will announce the winner on my blog on Friday, December 13. To be eligible just make sure you are a follower of my blog and leave a comment. The more days you leave a comment, the more chances you have to win. So that's it - easy peasy
This year I have a theme to my projects - it's called use what you have and keep it simple. For those of you who don't know me, I've been busy building a house this year. The process started last February and construction started in early June. I sold my old house and moved in with my parents last May. So, I have not been nearly as crafty as I like to be this year, I just haven't had the time or the space.
I haven't purchased any new holiday stamps, just a couple of new 6x6 papers pads, Distress Glitters and some clearance embellishments when I was in London on vacation. So, if you are overloaded with supplies, I challenge you to start using up your stash instead of always buying the latest and greatest. I'm going to show you some quick and easy projects over the next 12 days that you can make using things you already own.
Last year I purchased a set of 6 cute Christmas Buttons from Studio Calico. I never used them. So last week while I was on Thanksgiving vacation I sat down and challenged myself to make cards using all 6 of the buttons. To make the first one, I used Riding Hood Red cardstock to make the card base and papers from Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas. On the others, I found I was too lazy to keep getting up for paper that is in the next room, so I ended up using the Riding Hood Red for all the card bases. I also used some holiday stickers I had from Echo Park and Cosmo Cricket and some border stickers. All from my stash. I used lots of different elements from the patterned paper, like decorative rows of graphics and sentiments. I did a lot of cutting. I tried to make them all different. Some I like better than others. The first one is my favorite. Here they are.

Lawnscaping Challenge #33
I made this card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge - Clean & Simple. I chose Ornate Ornaments for one of my publication incentive sets, so I just got it and I really wanted to use it. I love the bold graphic ornaments in this Lawn Fawn stamps set. This is just a simple stamped card. I colored the ornament with Copics and added some rhinestones. The sentiment was created from words in the Cozy Christmas set. The decorative paper is from Echo Park - Holly Jolly Christmas. Thanks for stopping by!
