I created this card using the new Tim Holtz Holiday Stamptember 2016 Stamp set and my MISTI. I used my Tim Holtz Markers to color the different parts of the tree. This is such a fun technique to do on the MISTI. You can re-stamp it until you get the color as dark as you want it.  Thanks for stopping by!

I created this card using the new Tim Holtz Holiday Stamptember 2016Stamp set and my MISTI. I used my Tim Holtz Markers to color the different parts of the wreath and repeated stamped it in my MISTI.  It was so fun to make. I can't wait to color some other images with my MISTI. I used Festive Berries Distress Ink to stamp the plaid on the bottom. Thanks for stopping by!

I had the perfect stamp for this. It was part of my new PaperArtsy JOFY #47 stamp set. I love this fund cupcake holder filled with holiday decorations. I used Distress Inks (Salty Ocean and Squeezed Lemonade) to create the background and I watercolored with Distress Markers to color in the images. It ended up being a fun and colorful card. For my card I used a new IndigoBlu stamp set called Triple Parcel. It's a set of two stamps. One is the single line outline, the second you stamp on top, it has several loose lines. They have several of these stamps and I love all of them. I watercolored using my Tim Holtz Distress Markers, I was inspired to this by a video by Scrap Time Videos, here is a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLJUdSEre_A  The paper is from DCWV. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts. 

 

Unity Friends with Flair Friday

This is my Unity Friends With Flair Entry. I'm starting on the backs of my Faber Castell Design Memory Craft chipboard mini journal pages. I used DecoArt Decoupage to cover the background that was a little stained. My napkins were 3 ply, so I took out 2 of the layers and only used the layer with graphics. Since napkins are such thin paper you can see through them and little bit of the pink that was on the journal page shows through which give the background a little more interest. I took some pictures while I made this.

This is the original napkin and the my journal board with some pink stains.

After I tore up the napkin and decoupaged it on the journal board.

I used a Unity Itty Bitty Stamp set called "Wonderful". I colored in the border of the circle with Distress Markers in Seedless Preserves and Fossilized Amber. I stamped with Versafine Archival Black Ink. I adhered the bird in the circle on the board with foam tape. It was another fun and easy mini journal page. Unity Friends with Flair Friday

I made this little journal page using Unity Stamps and Tim Holtz Distress Marker watercoloring.  I used the Faber Castell Mini Mixed Media Journal. I colored on the stamps with Distress Markers, spritzed with water and stamped them onto the page. For the border I used a watercolor brush and added distress ink to an acrylic block and picked the color up with the brush and made small brush strokes all around the edges using 6 different colors. Inspiration Emporium Monthly Challenge - Christmas in June

I was inspired to make this card for the Inspiration Emporium Monthly Challenge - Christmas in June. I used the all Tim Holtz supplies. First, I stamped the Ornament Blueprint stamp twice and cut out the ornament and placed it on top of the first stamp with foam dots to add a little dimension. I colored the ornament with Distress Markers and used Holidays Past papers (my favorite of Tim's Christmas papers). Then I added a holiday word band and attached it with paper string. I love making Christmas cards and really love using a blueprint stamp so this one was super fun to make. Thanks for stopping by!

My 1st Art Journal Page in a Long Time!

Since I moved in about a month ago I've started making backgrounds in my art journals again. I have a bathroom with a sink and large countertop in my new craft room and it's working out great. I can spray the journals on one side, then clean off stencils in the sink and let them dry on the other side. The only problem is I haven't had a good idea for a journal page. I haven't even made a page in almost a year. So, today I sat down and found a background I wanted to use and decided to make a page from something.

I knew I wanted to use the words "create" and "evolve" but my thoughts on the graphics just didn't work out. So, I found a stamp set by SCACD that I had never used and I basically just randomly stamped all over the page. I also used a heart stamp by Unity and the letter stamps are Dylusions. The background and border was made with Dylusions sprays and stencils and Tim Holtz Distress Paints. I colored in all the images with Distress Markers. It was fun and relaxing even if it wasn't quite as artistic as I had hoped. At least it was a start.
