Have a Cool Christmas

I made this card for the current Curtain Call Challenge using a Stampendous stamp set that I got last week at Michaels. I just love these cute penguins. They come with matching dies so it's a fun set. I colored them with my Tombow Markers.

I hope you have a Cool Christmas!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Patterned Paper Christmas Card 2

I'm back with more Christmas Cards that I made from my Carta Bella Snow Fun Paper Collection. I'm having so much fun creating cards with this fun collection. This time I used a general design kind of like a loose sketch. Most have a central focal point and the sentiment on the bottom. One has a "winter" sticker on the top. I can't believe I made seven more cards so quickly once I decided on a format to loosely follow.

I made another video showing how I made one of these cards. I can't believe it, two videos in a week!! Here is a link to the video https://youtu.be/JBf8CkFusrA  I'm hoping to get at least one more video with ideas for making cards from this collection as soon as I decide what do to next. I hope you enjoy these cards. Thanks for  stopping by!

Patterned Paper Christmas Cards

Every year I buy a new Paper Collection to make Christmas Cards with and this year I chose the Snow Fun Collection by Carta Bella. I decided to make a video showing how I decide which collection to buy and what I look for in a collection that I will be using mainly to make cards.

To make my first set of cards I used one piece of patterned paper that had ornaments all over it. I cut out each ornament and made a card with each ornament as a the focal point. I also used a sentiment from the Hero Arts stamp set Dimensional Layering Bird and the Avery Elle postage stamp die.

This is the paper I cut the ornaments from. I also used brads from the same collection.

Here's a video I made showing how I made these and why I picked this collection. I don't love it, but I think it's better than the last video I made at the beginning of the year. Hopefully, I'll like my next one better. Thanks for stopping by!  https://youtu.be/-Yi7AtX0AHw

JOY Home Decor Sign

Today I'm sharing a quick and fun home decor project.  I love making things from the stash of wood blocks I have in my garage that I collect from the new home construction sites in the back of my neighborhood.

First, I painted it a Christmas red. Then I added the J and Y burlap letters and then centered the large burlap flower between them. The burlap flower is by Canvas Corp and I bought it at Walmart. I finished it off with a pretty red flower by Maya Road. I think it's a pretty rustic holiday decoration.

Christmas Card Challenges #46

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have everybody's favorite theme - Anything Goes.  I can't wait to see what you create!

I created this card using the new Tim Holtz Holiday Stamptember 2016Stamp set and my MISTI. I used my Tim Holtz Markers to color the different parts of the wreath and repeated stamped it in my MISTI.  It was so fun to make. I can't wait to color some other images with my MISTI. I used Festive Berries Distress Ink to stamp the plaid on the bottom. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #31 - Photo Inspiration

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a new Photo Inspiration Challenge.  I was definitely inspired by this sleigh. It's never too early to get started on your Christmas Cards. I hope you will join us this week!

For my card, I used some Tim Holtz papers and ephemera from his Ideology Festive Ephemera pack. It was super easy to put together. I just added some distress inks to the papers and adhered the poinsettia with foam tape. Be sure to use what you have and let the products do the work when you can. Thanks for stopping by!

December Daily Mini Album and Video!

So, I finally made a video.  I made one in December showing how I started my mini album, then I made another one after I added the photos and finished it. The first one is a little dark and wobbly and not great. The second one where I show the finished mini album is better. Check it out if you would like to see how I made my December mini album and to hear my southern accent. If you could like it to help me get my channel started, that would be great. I hope to make more videos soon and I'm sure I will get better at making them as time goes on.

Here is a picture of the finished front of the album. I used a Maya Road chipboard album and Kaisercraft Holly Jolly papers.

Today, I'm sharing a set of bright and shiny Christmas tress. I bought these wooden trees at Michaels and I had a hard time deciding how to decorate them. In the process, I created a really cool look. I painted each one with a different color of acrylic paint and then I painted over them with acrylic glitter paint in the same or similar color. The glitter paints are mainly just a clear paint with colored glitter. It made a really cool shiny almost metallic effect. I love it so much I decided to just leave them painted and not to add anything else to them.

You could paint these to match your holiday decor and use them for great decorations almost anywhere. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Day 10!
