Mondo Poinsettia Christmas Card

I did some shopping at the Ellen Hutson 40% off holiday items sale last week. I was happy to get the Ellen Hutson Essentials Mondo Poinsettia Stamp and Die set. I stamped the Poinsettias with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then colored them  with Copic Markers.  I read through this tutorial by Sharon Harnist to get ideas for what colors to use.

I layered several of the Poinsettias on top of each other with foam tape and added three of the leaves from the set. I inked the edges of my Neenah Classic Crest Card stock with Fossilized Amber Distress Ink and lined the edges lightly with Antique Olive Distress Ink. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted stamp set called Joyeux Noel.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying the holiday season.

Ellen Hutson Stamps and Dies

I was determined to use my Ellen Hutson stamps and dies that I ordered several months ago before the end of the summer.  With one week left of "freedom" I finally did.  I didn't have a challenge or anything specific in mind so I gave myself my own challenge.  I decided I wanted to use the Bokeh Dots stamp set to make different backgrounds and then I chose 3 colors I wanted to use for my cards. I used the Bokeh Dots stamps and Bold Blooms Stamps and matching dies.

The "thanks" die is from Lawn Fawn. On the first one I used some Prima wire trim. I had a lots of fun with these stamps and dies.  I love how these cards came out. Here's a link to all the Essentials by Ellen items. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #6

It's time for this week's challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week is a really fun Challenge. We were supposed to CASE a card made previously by one of the other Design Team Members. I decided to use a card by Alanna Moses for my inspiration. I loved how she created this flawless background by blending Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

Here is the card from Alanna. You can see the original post HERE.

I created my background using Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and Barn Door Distress Inks. The deer head is a die from Ellen Hutson and the words are dies by Papertrey Ink. I also inked the edges using a Prima Ink Edger in Black Coal. It's a different kind of Christmas Card, but I love how it turned out. I'm excited to see what you come up with this week for this fun challenge. Just pick any previous card by one our DT Members and be inspired. Thanks for stopping by!

Here's my card.
