Cas-ual Fridays Color Blocks Challenge

I'm so excited to be participating in this challenge. I don't think I've entered a challenge in almost a year!! I saw the Cas-ual Fridays color block challenge and I couldn't resist. I love color blocking and I had an idea for a card and thought about it for a few days and finally sat down and made it tonight. I used a FAB new stamp set I just got from Technique Tuesday called Fantastic. It was designed by my bloggy friend Teri Anderson. I just love her stamps. I pulled the papers from different Studio Calico Monthly Card Kit paper pads. It's one of those CAS cards that looks so easy, but took forever to make!!

Here's my card.

The Play Date Cafe #186

Welcome to this week's color challenge from The Play Date Cafe. It's time for everybody's favorite, the color splash challenge. Our splash colors this week are black, white and a splash of nectarine. I might have used a little more than a "splash," but I really wanted to use my new rose stamp and I couldn't resist. This rose is from the Technique Tuesday Garden Society Series. I jut love it. I colored it with copics and used Nestabilities. The ink is black Memento and the paper is Nene Solar White.

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp. One lucky winner will get a great gift certificate. I hope you will play with us this week and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Thanks for stopping by.

The Play Date Cafe #155

Welcome to this weeks Color Challenge from The Play Date Cafe. This week our gorgeous color story is Mint, Gold and Leather. You could make some gorgeous fall and holiday cards with these colors. This week our awesome sponsor is Technique Tuesday and they generously sent the members of the PDCC design team new stamp sets to play with. I got this amazing set designed by one of my favorite crafty friends, Teri Anderson the set is called Twinkle On. I just love it! And, I had such a fun time working with these stamps and colors. Teri is also our Guest Designer this week, so be sure to check out her card and leave her some love.

On a sad note, this week we are saying good bye to our long-time DT Member Ruby. Her life has taken a new turn lately and she is focusing on other things. I was a player long before I was a member of this design team and I have always loved visiting Ruby's blog and checking her unique style of card making. She will be greatly missed and we all wish her the very best in her future endeavors. We'll miss you Ruby!!

Now, for my card. I had nothing in mind when I started making this card - it just sort of developed organically and I really like it. I used Crate Paper Peppermint papers and border stickers. The light green background paper is from Echo Park -Merry & Bright.  I embossed the stars on the trees using a color called Pirate Gold. It's a little darker than gold, but I thought it went well with these colors. I stamped the trees in Wild Wasabi ink from Stampin' Up and added Gold Stickles to the tree. I stamped the sentiment and tree trunks in Ranger Archival Sepia.

Glittery Flower Thanks

I made this card for the current CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #14 - Glitzy Glue Dots. I used Technique Tuesday watercolor crayons to color the flower and I added a medium glue dot to the center of the flower and used yellow-gold glitter on it, then I used smaller glue dots on each of the petals and used crystal glitter (a little hard to see in the picture). I'm kind of into drawing my own freehand outlines these days so I did it again on this card with a black Stampin Write Marker. I was inspired to use these colors by a flower that was painted on the lamp on my bedside table in Mexico. Thanks for taking a look!

Here's my card.

Materials
1. Card stock - Whisper White (Stampin Up)
2. Watercolor Paper (Papertrey Ink)
3. Stamps - Layered Flowers (Hero Arts), Sentiment Sampler (Paper Smooches)
4. Ink - Black (Memento) Marker - Black (Stampin Up)
5. Glitter (Martha Stewart)
6. Watercolor crayons (Technique Tuesday)

Instructions
1. Create card from white card stock - finished size 5 x 5
2. Stamp flower on watercolor paper, color with watercolor crayons and go over with a damp brush
3. Allow stamp to dry and add medium glue dot to middle of flower and add glitter, then add smaller glue dots to each petal and add crystal glitter
4. Cut out flower and add to card with foam tape
5. Stamp sentiment
6. Draw freehand border
