Day 5 of the 12 Days of Holiday Projects

Welcome to Day 5 of the 12 Days of Holiday Inspiration Blog Event brought to you by "The Inspiration Crew".  We’re just a group of online crafty friends who love being creative. This time we're doing a 12-day event to provide you with tons of Holiday Inspiration.

We're making crafty projects using products we like and some of us are even offering prizes. Check each blog and the information there for what prizes are being offered and when the winners will be announced on that blog.

At the bottom of this post is a list of all the crafty ladies participating in this event. Be sure to visit all the blogs each day for loads of fun Holiday craft ideas.

I'm offering prize!! My prize is a $20 gift card to Michaels. I will announce the winner on my blog on Friday, December 13. To be eligible just make sure you are a follower of my blog and leave a comment. The more days you leave a comment, the more chances you have to win. So that's it - easy peasy

This year I have a theme to my projects - it's called use what you have and keep it simple. For those of you who don't know me, I've been busy building a house this year. The process started last February and construction started in early June. I sold my old house and moved in with my parents last May. So, I have not been nearly as crafty as I like to be this year, I just haven't had the time or the space.

I haven't purchased any new holiday stamps, just a couple of new 6x6 papers pads, Distress Glitters and some clearance embellishments when I was in London on vacation. So, if you are overloaded with supplies, I challenge you to start using up your stash instead of always buying the latest and greatest. I'm going to show you some quick and easy projects over the next 12 days that you can make using things you already own.

Today I have a super quick and easy project for you. If you're like me you have tons of Washi Tape. I find I don't really use it that often so I love to find ways to actually put it to good use. I just took some plain white notepads that I got from Oriental Trading Company and wrapped Washi Tape around them. It was so easy and actually really fun to make these. For the first one I used some Washi tapes I've had in my stash for a while. For the second one I used a set of tapes made by My Minds Eye. I love sets because they all work together. For the third one I used Tim Holtz tapes that also come in a set. You could also easily add a cardstock sticker or anther embellishment on the front, but I didn't want to cover up all this Washi goodness so I left them plain. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you stop back tomorrow!

CAS-ual Fridays #54

I made this card for the current CAS-ual Fridays #54 Challenge - to make a masculine card using patterned paper. I used a new stamp set from Papertrey Ink called On the Links for the golf bag & clubs. The paper is On The Bright Side by My Minds Eye. I also used a Nestabilities Die set. The ink is London Fog by Memento and Chocolate Chip from Stampin' Up. This will be my dad's Fathers Day card. He can't golf enough since he retired 12 years ago. Thanks for taking a look!

Here's my card.

Winter Cards for Work

Today is my last of work this year!! I'm definitely ready for a break. I needed some cards for my coworkers and since many of them know I have a little card making hobby I wanted to make some cards for them instead of using store bought ones. But, I waited until last night, so I had to make something quick and easy. I subscribe to a nice UK magazine called Cardmaking & Papercrafts and it's so much fun because they send gifts with their magazines. In October they sent a My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pad of pretty wintery Christmas paper called Snowed In along with two sheets of matching chipboard stickers!! I haven't used any of it so I decided to pull it out and make some cards and here's what I came up with. They're not the most complicated, but they were fun and easy. The issue I got this week had a set cute of clear holiday stamps (I'll show some cards using them soon).

I also made bread for some of my coworkers and my house smells so good - but unfortunately I need all 8 mini loaves so I can't eat any!!! I'll have to make more this weekend. I've included a picture - I think the loaves looked really pretty this time. Thanks for stopping by!

Young Crafters Unite Blog Hop!!

Welcome to my section of the Young Crafters Unite Blog Hop!! What makes me a young crafter? Well, I guess it would have to be the fact that I feel young at heart!! The topic for this blog hop is Favorite Things so I decided to use this card which uses several of my favorite things. I love pretty patterned paper, twine and I have just recently started using and loving fabric stickers and Pebbles Layered Embellishments. All of these things together make for a pretty and relatively quick and easy card. It's one of my favorite cards ever!! Scroll down for more favorites, info and links to your next stop.

Materials
Card stock: Marina Mist (Stampin’ Up)

Decorative Paper:  "Hattie" Remember Roses Paper from Stella & Rose Collection (My Minds Eye)
Fabric Stickers: Elizabeth Park (Little Yellow Bicycle)
Felt Clouds: Clouds Layered Embellishments (Pebbles)
Twine: Blossom (The Twinery)
Tools: Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers)

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my Happy Birds. I'm also showing an older "favorite" card of mine. I just think it's pretty and, well, inspiring!! It features one of my Favorite stamp sets by Impression Obsession called Imagine Words. I love how graphic they are and they are perfect for embossing like I did on this card in silver. I also love these blue flowers - I think they turned out very nice. Here's a link to the original post for all the details.

So, those were two cards that focus on some of my favorite things. Before you move on remember to leave a comment for a chance to win one of the following prizes: $20 from Simon Says Stamp, your choice of stamp set from Paper Smooches or your choice of stamp set from Lawn Fawn.
Winners will be chosen randomly and will be posted on the
Young Crafters Unite Website Wednesday, July 6. You came here from
Danielle and your next place on the hop is Cynthia. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!!
