Christmas Card Challenges #30 - Anything Goes

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have everybody's favorite challenge - Anything Goes.  It's never too early to get started on your Christmas Cards. I hope you will join us this week!

For my card, I used a JOFY stamp set from PaperArtsy.  To add a little dimension I stamped the tree on the card and then on a another piece of paper. I cut out all the pieces, colored them with Copic markers and adhered them to the original panel. I die cut the panels with Lawn Fawn stitched dies. I also added some enamel dots and some Wink of Stella to the star. It's my favorite kind of card, quick and easy. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #29 - Color Challenge

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a new Color Challenge.  It's never too early to get started on your Christmas Cards. I hope you will join us this week!

For my card, I used papers from the Crate Paper Collection called Bundled Up I was inspired by the photo to add some gold to my ornaments. I die cut the ornaments from Grunge Board and I painted the bulbs with Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Cracked Pistachio. Then, I added Gold Perfect Pearls to the tops of the ornaments. I love to use Perfect Pearls whenever I can.  I adhered the bulbs to the card with foam tape. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set called Merry Christmas Messages. I stamped it with Ranger Archival ink in the color of Veridian. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #28

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a new Word Prompt Challenge. Our inspiration word is "Religious." So, just make a Christmas Card with a religious theme.

I made a CAS religious card. I used a stamp set from Papertrey Ink called Star of Wonder. I also used PTI ink and paper in Enchanted Evening. I used a circle and scallop circle die to create the opening in the card and the scallops around it. The image of the three wise men is on the inside of the card. Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #25 - 2nd Anniversary!

It's time for another challenge over at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. This month we are celebrating our 2nd Anniversary!! Our theme is to pick any of our challenge themes over the last year.

Our sponsor is The Funkie Junkie Boutique. They are offering a $25 gift certificate for our random winner and some more fun prizes will available throughout the month!!

They are also having a sale until June 15. Check it out!!

For my project, I chose the "Butterflies and Blooms" theme again. I used PaperArtsy paints, crackle glaze, stamps, Ranger Archival Black Ink, Design Memory Craft Pitt Pens, and the Dylusions white pen. I decorated an art journal cover.
I started off covering both sides with two coats of IndigoBlu gesso.

I roughly painted several layers with Blush, Sour Grapes, and Zesty Zing.

After I painted several coats of different color paints, I decided I wasn't in love with it so I added a layer of Carribean sea and started over with the same colors.

This is the final background with Crackle Glaze.
To finish it off I added some PaperArtsy Crackle Glaze. I wanted some more of the blue to show through. It takes a while to crackle (at least over night). You have to remember is the amount of paint that determines how much crackling it will do, not how much crackle glaze you put on it.

To decorate on the background I stamped PaperArtsy stamps with black Ranger archival ink. I didn't know if the ink would stick to the crackle glaze, but it did - no smearing!! After stamping I added some doodling with my black and white pens. Be sure to check out the blog for more inspiration from our awesome designers. Thanks for stopping by.
