Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #49 - Wrap it Up - The Final Challenge

It's time for the another challenge over at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge and this one is the last. After 4 years of running an awesome challenge, I've decided to end the challenge this month. It was a hard decision, but my life has changed a lot in the last 4 years and I just don't have the time to devote to it that it deserves.

Our sponsor this month is the lovely Eileen Hull. She's given us all dies that wrap around to use for our projects. I created the blueish, lavender background using the new Seth Apter #4 set of paints from PaperArtsy. I randomly used all the colors and some sponges to the the background. Then I used a PaperArtsy Kay Carley Stencil #78 with PaperArtsy Grunge paste to add some fun accents. I made the cover for a small journal.

I hope you will join us for our last challenge and thanks to all those of you who have played from the beginning and those of you who just found us. It's been a great ride.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #31 - Merry & Bright - Mid-Month Inspiration

I made another project this month for the Mixed Media Monthly December "Merry & Bright" Challenge using Eileen Hull's Loaf Pan die. I mixed my own color of blue paint using Distress Mermaid Lagoon and Distress Blueprint Sketch paints. I painted the front and back of the pan and taped it together with double sided tape. Then, I added some American Craft Remarks Snowflake stickers. Finally, I used buttons, beads and sequins from the 28LilacLane Winter Wonderland Embellishment set from May Flaum.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #31 - Merry & Bright

It's time for a new challenge over at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. This month we have a fun color challenge. These colors go with all your Fall/Autumn/Thanksgiving projects. Our sponsor is Eileen Hull and she is giving our lucky random winner one of her awesome dies. Check it out on the blog.

I decorated my box made with her Square Box die, die cut using mat board. I used IndigoBlu paints, a Jillibean Soup circle stencil and some sequins and tiny rhinestones. I wanted to make it as fun and cheery as possible. To finish it off I added a silver, sequined bow from Maya Road. Below are some photos I snapped along the way. I hope you will play with us this month. Thanks for stopping by!

Here is how the dies look when you first cut them out.

I added a couple of layers of IndigoBlue Townhouse Teal.

Then I chose one size circle and traced them lightly with a pencil

Then I painted in the circles (not the bottom) an adhered the box
with strong double sided tape.

To finish it off I added two layers of sequins and tiny rhinestone
to each dot and a pretty, sparkly bow.
