Christmas Card Challenges #13 -Wreath

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Word Prompt challenge - Wreath. I can't wait to see what you make!  It's never too early to get started on your Christmas Cards.

For this card I used a chipboard door by Maya Road. I painted it with PaperArtsy Fresco painting Caribean Blue. The wreath is from Tim Holtz. I added some red pearls to the wreath and colored the bow with Zig Wink of Stella to make it sparkle. I used a Tim Holtz die for the Greetings word. The papers are from Fancy Pants Oh Dear Collection. Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #36 - "Put a Stamp On It"

It's time for a new Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. This month our challenge it so "Put a Stamp On It" so easy - just make something with a stamped image. Our sponsor this month is my new store www.topflightstamps.com. Our lucky winner will win a $25 gift card from Topflight Stamps!!! I sell stamps from all around the world in one place. Be sure to check out Topflight Stamps.

Each of our designers this month used some awesome stamps from Topflight Stamps on their projects. I used a stamp set by JoyCrafts! from The Netherlands called Seashore Icons - perfect for you summer cards. I really love the images in this nautical set.

First, I used a 6 x 6 navy blue card base and stamped a background from stamps in the set with Versamark Ink. Then I brushed Pewter Perfect Pearls over the Versamark Ink. This technique makes such a pretty and subtle background. I'm not sure why the lighting made the navy card stock look so light, but the second picture is the correct color.

The I stamp the lighthouse scene from the stamp set with my MISTI. I stamped it several times
using different colors in different places with my Tombow Markers. I shaded the edges with a Prima Chalk Ink Edger Pad in Old Road. I matted the paper with a DCWV burlap panel.
I used PPA Glue to adhere the paper to the fabric and the fabric to the paper.
I love PPA because it dries clears and works on almost everything.

Thanks for stopping by!! Be sure to play this month at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #35 - "What's Your Superpower?"

It's time for a new The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. This month we are creating projects that showcase or represent your "Superpower".  Such a fun topic. Don't let this topic scare you - maybe your superpower is creating awesome Vintage ATCs, or using Gelatos to create unusual backgrounds, or maybe using up your crafty stash.

Our Guest Designer this month is famous Comic Book Designer Brett Weldele.  Our sponsor this month is Stampers Anonymous. Our lucky random winner will get a prize package of Brett's stamps and stencils. I hope you will come play with us this month for this fun challenge!!

For my project I created a card made with stamps from a Brett Weldele Stampers Anonymous stamp set called Party Monsters. I'm showcasing my "Superpower" of using sprays. I'm an expert sprayer. I have TONS of sprays - Distress Spray Inks, Dylusions, Heidi Swapp, DecoArt and my new favorites Tattered Angels. I used Tattered Angels sprays on this card.

To start, I black heat embossed the monster and the sentiment. Then I added some Molotow masking to the monster so I could spray over the card and not worry about ruining him.

Then I sprayed several different colored Tattered Angels Spray Inks all over the card.

Tattered Angels Mists

Then I painted the monster using the Glimmer Mists and paintbrush and added some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks around the edges of the monster.
