Christmas Card Challenges #26 - Color Challenge

It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge. This week we have a Color Challenge. I hope that you will join us. I can't wait to see what you make. Be sure to check out the blog today. We are welcoming a few new designers and saying goodbye to some of our current team.

For my card I did one of my favorite things, combined several different coordinating papers from one paper pack. These papers are all from the DCWV paper stack called Cranberry Christmas. It's a great way to use up your papers and it's fun to put them all together.

Christmas Card Challenges #23 - Color Challenge

It's time for another Christmas Card Challenge. This week we have an Color Challenge. I hope that you will join us. It's never to early to get started on you Christmas Cards!!

For my card I created the background using a Silver Gelato and water. To create the trees I used Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Trees and Dies with Hero Arts Ombre ink in Lime to Forever Green. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set called Merry Christmas Messages with Ranger Black Archival Ink. I used foam tape to attach the trees. The white paper is Neenah Solar White and I matted it with Stampin' Up Basic Gray and Old Olive card stock.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #24 - Butterflies and Blooms

It's time for another challenge over at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. Our theme this month is "Dimension." Just create a project that has some dimension. Our guest designer and sponsor is the amazing Ken Oliver!!  He is offering a set of Caribbean Brights Color Burst and a Best Ever Craft Mat to our random winner. What a great prize!

I used several of Ken's Color Bursts to create my art journal page. First I stamped my Dina Wakley Stamps with Ranger Black Archival ink. Then I added some Color Bursts with water in a palette and created my own watercolors. I used a water brush to color in the flowers, butterflies and sky. Later, I added some accents with a black and white Stabilo pencils and black and white Dylusions paint pens. I also did some stamping on the blue sky with blue Archival Inks. I hope you will play along with us this month. I can't wait to see what beautiful creations everyone will make.

I took this picture at night with poor lighting when the page was
still wet before adding any pencils or pens.
