PaperArtsy Art Journal Page

I'm on spring break this week, and I found some time to play in my art journal with my new PaperArtsy stamps and paints. The paints are all PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk paints and the stamps are PaperArtsy by Emma Godfrey and Lin Brown. The circle stencil I used is Dylusions. Thanks for stopping by!

I took a few photos along the way.

I started by brayering on some Cement Paint

Then I brayered on some yellow that was really bright so I toned it down with more Cement.

I added some Beach Hut using a piece of Cut N Dry foam.

Then I added some Bouganvillia with a Dylusions circle stencil.

I thought it was a little bold to be a background so I toned it down by randomly patting on some Pixie Dust with a piece of Cut N Dry Foam.

These are the paints that I used.

I used a new Emma Godfrey stamp set to finish the page. Two of the sentiments are from a Lin Brown set. I used Black Ranger Archival Ink.

Christmas Card Challenges #17

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Color Challenge. It's never too early to start on your Christmas cards! I can't wait to see what you create.

For my card I used a Unity Stamp Company stamp.  I colored the image with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz ephemera pack. The rectangle dies are from Lawn Fawn. I used a white gel pen on the snowflakes. I love to use stamps that don't require any other images on the card. This one creates it's own little scene. Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Card

Today I'm sharing an Easter card I made just for fun. I bought this stamp at The Stamp and Scrap Art Show that came to town last month from a company called Stamplistic. The stamp is from Northwoods Rubber Stamps. I just couldn't resist this cute image.

I used Twinkling H2Os and some other shimmery watercolors to color this. I used colored pencils for the sky. I also use some clear Irresistible Pico Embellisher on the eggs to add some depth and shine, but it doesn't really show up on the picture. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #16

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. This week we have a Photo Inspiration Challenge. It's never too early to start on your Christmas cards! I can't wait to see what you create.

For my card I used the Papertrey, Inc. Jar Fillers set. The sentiments is from Hero Arts and the background stamp is from Stampin' Up. I heat embossed the white snowflakes and sentiment. I think this is sort of an interesting rustic Christmas card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #22 - Inspiration Photo

It's time for another challenge over at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog. This month our theme an inspiration photo. Just make a project based on anything that inspires you about our "Eggs" photo.

Our sponsor this month is Waffle Flower Crafts. They make really cool, versatile stamps and dies for paper crafting. Our guest designer is Tessa Wise from the Waffle Flower Crafts design team. Our lucky random winner will get a $25 gift certificate to Waffle Flower Crafts!!

For my project I used some wooden eggs that I've had for years now, gelli print papers, rub-on and spray shines.
These are my wooden eggs.
You'll see after this photo I found a smaller one also.
These are the Gelli Print Papers I used.
I cut the papers into strips and used
DecoArt DecouPage to adhere them to the eggs.
A close up of one of the almost finished eggs.

I decided they needed a little something else so I finished them off with
some white butterfly rub-ons by Maya Road and they sprayed them with
Mint and Teal Heidi Swapp ColorShine Sprays.
Here are the final eggs. I really like how they turned out
and I love that I was able to use my Gelli Print Papers.
