Christmas Card Challenges #40

Welcome to this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have everyone's favorite - Anything Goes! So pull out your Christmas stamps, paper and embellishments and make any kind of card you like. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this week!

For my card, I wanted to use my new Penny Black Stamp Set called Winter Wonderland. I colored the cute little scene with Copics and added some sequins for ornaments on the tree and some Yello Stickles on the moon. The background paper is some old Dyan Reaveley pre-Dylusions paper that I picked up when I visited her store in North Yorkshire last summer. I was so happy to finally use it. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #39

Welcome to this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have an inspiration photo to help you get inspired to make another Christmas Card. I was inspired by the presents and the shiny colors. So, I made presents out of glitter papers. I used the Tim Holtz Packages Die to make the presents. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this week! Thanks for stopping by!

I heat embossed this snowman and sentiment from Denami Designs on Not Quite Navy paper from Stampin' Up.  Then I added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for some fun "snow" accents. The background snowflake paper is from Cosmo Cricket. I can't wait to see what embossed creations everyone makes this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Moxie Fab World Clicking Cameras Challenge

I made this card for the Moxie Fab World Clicking Cameras Challenge. I used colored wood cameras by Recollections that I bought on sale at Michaels last week. I love the colors and how graphic they are. The wooden letters are from Studio Calico. The papers are from Papertrey Ink, the green is Limeade. This is one of my favorite types of cards to make - colorful CAS. This was a very fun challenge for me. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #37

It's time for another challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have a color challenge. I used this cute Presents Wreath stamps by Lockhart stamps and colored the presents with Copic markers that I thought were close to the color scheme. I printed off the photo and the colors look little different on the screen than they did on my hard copy. But, anyway, it was fun to use these colors to make a different looking Christmas Card. They are really beautiful colors. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I can't wait to see what everyone makes this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #36

Welcome to this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges. This week the challenge is to use at least two embellishments on your card.  I used several embellishments on my card. First I made a tag using a die by Pretty Pink Posh. Then I made a slightly larger shaped tag out of patterned paper. The tree stamp and die is from Hero Arts. The sentiment is from Hero Arts/Studio Calico stamp set. I stamped it in Ranger Archival Ink in Leaf Green.

I added some sequins by Pretty Pink Posh to the tree for ornaments and I added a sparkly gold dot from DCWV to the top of the tree. Under the tree I added some present stickers that I found on clearance at Michaels last month. The taffeta ribbon is Riding Hood Red from Stampin' Up. The papers are from Crate Paper and Echo Park. I can't wait to see what everyone makes this week! Thanks for stopping by!

The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #3 - Stencils and Pastes

It's time for the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #3. This month our challenge is to use stencils with paste on your mixed media project. You can make any kind of mixed media project - card, ATC, scrapbook page, canvas, altered item, etc...

Our sponsor this month is the awesome crafty retailer Eclectic Paperie. They are generously offering our random winner a $25 gift certificate to their store. And, our super talented guest designer is Karen Crossen.

For my project, I decorated an oval paper mache box from Hobby Lobby. First, I covered the whole box in gesso. Then I covered the bottom of the box with scrapbook paper using Multi Medium. On the  lid, I colored the sky using watercolors and Tim Holtz Distress Paint. I mixed my own color of glitter for the "sand" on the bottom. I used Martha Stewart glitters. I used a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop - Palm Tree TCW257 for the Palm Tree, sun and birds. I used Liquitex Modeling Paste that I colored using custom colors I created from acrylic paints. I added a lot of modeling paste because I wanted the tree and other elements to have lots of texture and to stand out. After the modeling paste dried, I added some highlights to images using Faber Caste Stampers Big Brush Pens. To finish off the lid, I cut some surfboards out of scrapbook paper and adhered them to the sand area and I painted the edge of the lid red with acrylic paint.

Remember, you have until midnight August 31 to link up your project. I can't wait to see what everyone make this month. Thanks for stopping by.  Now go pull out your stencils and pastes and start creating!!!
