The Play Date Cafe Challenge #142

We have another great color story this week at The Play Date Cafe. Our colors are Cobalt, Goldenrod and Peony. Over the past few day The Play Date Cafe has been welcoming and revealing the new designers who will officially start on the team next week with our August 2 Challenge. However, we are also sad to say goodbye to Savannah, Colleen, Jinny and Denise. They have all been here so long and will be missed. I know we will all continue to visit their blogs and support them in their future endeavors.

Since it's so hot here, I thought I would do a summer card. The paper is Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White from Stampin' Up. The cork is also from Stampin' Up. All the stamps and dies are from Papertrey Ink - Heart to Heart #6 & Flipping Out. I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Archival ink.

I hope you will join us this week and make a project with these fun colors! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! And, one lucky winner will get a prize from the fabulous Play Date Cafe prize vault and trust me, it is filled with crafty goodness!

Blue Birds

I made this card for the current Impression Obsession Challenge - Fly Away - to use anything that flies. I couldn't resist using this super cute Impression Obsession Love Birds stamp again. I haven't colored in a while and this is not my best work, but it was fun to pull out the Copics and practice using them again. Thanks for taking a look!

Happy Birthday

I made this card for the current Cas-ual Fridays Challenge #62 - to use a black card base. The vase is from a new PTI set called Mega Gracious Vases. I stamped the vase in Memento London Fog Ink. The sentiment is from a PTI set called Fillable Frames Sentiments. The sentiment dies are also PTI. The flower is plastic and its from Jenni Bowlin Studios - I covered it with Gesso and then painted it with a Adirondack Raspberry Paint Dabber. Finally I used some Doodlebug Twine for the stem and a shiny silver brad for the center of the flower. Thanks for taking a look!

Christmas Configurations

If you're looking for The Play Date Cafe post click HERE.

I've been working on several Christmas Configuration boxes. This challenge inspired me to finish my first one. I tried to take pictures from different angles so you can see the papers on the sides. I used Tim Holtz Seasonal Papers on the outside of the box and on all the inside sections. I'm entering this into the Studio L3 Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 11 & 12. Thanks for stopping by.

You Are Fabulous

I made this simple card for the current Cupcake Craft Challenge - to use numbers on your card. I thought this stamp would be great because the skirt on the left has Numbers all over it. I used a Ippity Unity Itty Bitty stamp set called Fabulous Girl. You can't really tell, but after I colored the image with Copics, I added Smooch Glitz to the skirts. They're very shiny and sparkly in person. The papers are all Bazzill Basics. Thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Hello

I made this card using Lawn Fawn stamps and papers. The stamps I used were Flutterby for the Butterfly, Cruising Through Life for the swirl, and Just My Type for the sentiment. I colored in the butterfly with Copic. I attached the butterfly with foam tape and bent the wings a little to add dimension.

I'm entering this card into the Lawnscaping Challenge #37 - Use Dimension. I'm also entering this into the Moxie Fab World Stamp-It Cards Week - Hello Card Challenge. Click here to join in all the fun.

Here's my card.

The Play Date Cafe #139

Welcome to this week The Play Date Cafe color challenge. The colors are NUDE, GOLD, & SILVER. It's a super fun color combo this week and I can't wait to see what original designs everyone comes up with. It's even perfect if you're thinking about Christmas in July. I hope you can join us this week.

For my card I used this beautiful shiny gold paper that I had a scrap of left over from another project. I found these super cute Elizabeth Crafts stickers at my LSS and picked them up in anticipation of this card. I took one of the scrap pieces of gold paper and put the stickers randomly all over the panel.  Then I cut the panel into this smaller rectangle and outline with my "nude" color card stock and adhered it to the main card with foam tape. The sticker sentiment is from EAD Designs.

We have a guest designer this week - Amy Tsuruta. Be sure to check out her fabulous creation leave her some love.

One lucky winner will win an awesome prize from our sponsor this week - My Creative Classroom. So join us for a this weeks great challenge!!

CCC July Guest Designer!!

Today I have some exciting news. I've been asked to be the guest designer at the Christmas Card Challenges Blog! I love getting my Christmas cards done early and this is the perfect blog for that. And, I'm lucky because the challenges start on Sundays and there are 5 Sundays in July. So, today I'm starting off Christmas in July. The challenge this week is to make a monochromatic card. I thought my main color would be purple. By the time I added the silver accents it may not be that monochromatic anymore, but I really like how it turned out. Probably because I love purple, silver, and snowmen!! Come join us at the CCC blog and get a head start on your Christmas cards!
