Happy Father's Day

The card I made uses a set called Masculine Tags. I chose this one first because my dad loves cars and when he sees this one he will definitely tell me the make and model of it. I love the sentiment that says You're a Classic and I was glad I figured out a way to fit it in to the card. The decorative papers are a new set by Gina K. Designs called Casual Fridays. So, since this card fits into the Casual Fridays Challenge theme this week, I thought I would also enter it. The card stock is Crumb Cake by Stampin' Up and the ink is Tuxedo Black - Memento. Thanks for taking a look!!

Moxie Fab World - Gingham Challenge

I finally made a card for the Moxie Fab World Gingham Challenge. I've seen so many cards already submitted by my friends and I just couldn't seem to think of an original idea. I always keep my new stamp sets out on my work table until I use them a couple of times. Then, I put them up and hopefully don't forget them - but, these things happen. So, I've had this Stamp set out for a while and haven't used it and I really wanted to and this design just popped into my head. I haven't seen anyone else use a school bus in their gingham challenge - of course I haven't looked at all the entries - there might be one out there. And, after looking all afternoon I officially don't have a stamp that says back to school, so I found this one in my search and thought it also fits these cute little kids riding to school. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Materials
1. Card stock - Whisper White, Basic Black (Stampin Up)
2. Gingham Paper - Yellow (A Muse Studio)
3. Stamp Set - A-Z Coordinates (Samantha Walker for Unity), Sentiment (Hero Arts/Studio Calico)
4. Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento)
5. Markers - Copics
6. Foam tape (Stampin Up)

The ink is London Fog by Memento and Chocolate Chip from Stampin' Up. This will be my dad's Fathers Day card. He can't golf enough since he retired 12 years ago. Thanks for taking a look!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #133

It's time for another fun color challenge at The Play Date Cafe. This week's colors are Baby Blue, Denim and Cherry. I had this decorative paper that I thought was perfect for these colors. It's called The Sky's The Limit from Stampington. I used a stamp set called Gus, from this week's sponsor - Mr. Cricut Crazy. I think this dog is so cute and the sentiment is very appropriate for those of us who are dog lovers. When I saw one of the colors was denim, I definitely wanted to use my denim ribbon.

As I mentioned above, our sponsor this week is Mr. Cricut Crazy. Please take some time to go check out his blog and be sure to click on the link to his fun stamps. He generously provided the PDCC Design Team with stamps for this challenge. His design team will also be playing with us this week! Hopefully, you'll play this week since one lucky winner will get a great gift from Mr. Cricut Crazy.

Art Journal With a Tag

I haven't done anything in my art journal for a while, so I wanted to make a new page tonight. Since I've been making backgrounds in the morning before I go to work, I already had the background sprayed and ready to go. It was done with Dylusions spray inks - but since I made it last week, I can't remember the colors! The stamps around the edges are Dylusions and the pretty lady in the middle is from Unity - Ippity - Angie Girl: Dream with Your Heart. I colored in the leaves and flowers roughly with oil pastels.

When I make my backgrounds I spray on a plastic sheet so any ink that gets on the edges can easily be swiped up on my stash of tags. This tag was made from the overspray of inks when I made one of my backgrounds. I have tons of these tags now and they are all so pretty and unique. The twine I used on the tag is from Lawn Fawn. I made the tag from a Tim Holtz Die and an old manila folder. Thanks for taking a look!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #132

It's that time again at The Play Date Cafe. We have a super fun color splash challenge!! This time it's a splash of Mustard. I used this fun Samantha Walker designed stamp set from Unity Stamp Company Called Cuckoo Clocks. I love the image of this cuckoo clock and thought it would be perfect for this color challenge. I cut out a bird from the set, colored it with my Mustard Copic Marker and adhered it to the card with foam tape.

I also added some fun black pearls from this weeks' sponsor Want-2-Scrap to accent all the little flowers on the clock and the center of the clock. Then I added one to the flower in the bird and two to the sentiment punch. They are so great to use for some added interest and accents on cards. This weeks' winner will receive a great prize from Want-2-Scrap!!! Their very talented design team coordinator Karen Taylor is guest designing with us this week. Be sure to check out her creation and leave her some love!

Dream With Your Heart

I had a skin cancer removed from my shoulder today. Just a Basil Cell Carcinoma - nothing that spreads. But, I have lots of stitches and can't pick up things for a while. As I sat on the couch feeling mellow from the pain meds, I really felt the urge to work in my art journal. So, I got up and made this simple page. No intricate details, just some stamping. I really like how it turned out. With the awesome backgrounds you can make with Dylusions spray inks your images don't have to be complicated. I just love these new stamps.

Lately, I've been spraying backgrounds for pages with my Dylusions sprays before I got to work so they will be dry when I get home. If I do them when I'm ready to make the page, I have to use the heat gun and they get a little wavy and curled. So, I've got several backgrounds ready to go and I decided to use this one today. I used the Squeezed Orange, Crushed Grape and Cut Grass ink sprays. The stamps are from a new Ippity set by Angie Blom for Unity Stamp Company called Angie Girl: Dream With Your Heart. FYI - My Ippity Chick is JenMarie Taylor and she is the best. Thanks for stopping by!
